Sounds about right but we know the slot-loading drive exists just not whether or not it will be available in time. Given the 3-5 day ship time I would say these revisions will lack it but maybe it will be available as a BTO option with delayed availability. I will not buy one until it hits 1GHz and includes a Superdrive. More waiting. I hate waiting.

no i think it's wrong. i'd say the next powerbooks will come with speeds up to 1.2 Ghz
check out www.macrumors.com for a recent article. Looks like Nov 5 is a go date. I am trying to decide whether or not to sell me tibook 800 right now.. or hold onto it for a while. What do you think?

Why would you sell the 800 you have now?
Get some use out of it. Unless you need something specific on the new machine I can' t imagine why you would take the dollar-hit for 200mzh, best case scenario. Unless you just need braggin' rights.
Happily brought to you from an ever-functional Original Pismo 400.
Well I have $2800.00 in the tibook with 768 meg of ram and some other goodies. Got it brand new for less than 2800 including shipping & tax.. I figured I could sell it for break even on Ebay.. then use that money & upgrade. But I am just not sure if it is worth it.
ThinkSecret has also jumped on the November 5th bandwagon today, with notes on PowerBook AND iBook speed bumps. However, no mention of any display changes. That would really be disappointing, as I've been waiting for a 19" widescreen LCD from Apple for over a year now.
Maybe the displays will just get a quiet update behind the PowerBook and iBook bumps. Santa, please bring me a 19" display for Christmas!!

You're right, no mention. I thought the main reason for the event/announcement was for the displays and then notebooks were just addtional info.

Hrm, actually that would be pretty damned cool...useful for presentations...and flight simulations...mmm
In the end what we all want is the PowerHelmet or PowerGoggles, one monitor per eyeball with as high a resolution as the retina can discern.
