You know what would be funny is if they quote people from the boards. I can not recall anything from what people have said but it would be just great if they did!
Yes, this is some serious hype... but keep in mind that it is aimed at the average Joe-consumer, not the geeky types sitting on this board winding themselves into a tizzy over some imagined G5 machine.
This banner promises something extra-ordinary from an Apple keynote at MacWorld. A new iMac fits the bill, finally reaching 1 GHz doesn't (its only about 15%, still way behind Wintel, and MHz doesn't matter - remember?). Alternatively some radically new gadget to attach to your digital hub. This is Segway-style hype.

Well said.
Think about it, guys. From Apple?s POV, the iMac is the most important product in its recent history. It saved the company -- not even so much finanically (though it didn?t hurt) - but it made people pay attention again.
Introducing an all-new iMac is a big, big event for Apple. Esp. considering that it's going to be amazing, whatever it is.
'Course, speed-bumped models all around, the announcement of OS X shipping default on all machines, a new iPix app, and breaking the Ghz barrier... all just icing on the cake.

How do you know?

Possibly because Apple is based in Cupertino, California, which happens to be on the west coast, which is in Pacific time.

They also point to the still 3 day ship time for Powermacs and Powerbooks.
I wish they went by eastern time. I can't stay up much longer since I have to get up at 6. Damn Apple!

Simple solution: don't sleep. Find something to do until 6. Make sure there's no blood in your caffiene stream
Or just sleep and find out in the morning...
