    Think Different

    Think Free

    Think M$ Office Alternative

mmmmm, M$/Apple contract ends this year. Could Jobs be developing a back up plan so when he tell Bill to **** off and M$ pulls Office we aren't left hangin?

That would be really great. Bye bye M$...

oh and one more thing... we developped an open OS for x86... running all your apps with Aqua on top and Unix on the cockpit! All people have to do for having it, it's to buy an iPod with an Apple Firewire card and you receive the complete OS on a CD... FREE !

ThinkFree 1.7 can be downloaded for Mac OS 9 today (it's not new).

I guess that they will show the Mac OS X version of ThinkFree Office 2.

As I read on most of the rumor sites "The G5 is unlikly to be announced, sources said". and each of the rumor sites I 've been has siad something in that direction. So we must actually hope on G4 Appolo's +1,0 GHz.. The iPod won't get a new brother also, too unlikly. And the sweet i- and TiBooks may have a new 100 Mhz boost.

New iMac is 200% certain to come at MWSF.

    That's all folks.

Just read it today (can't remember where), but the word is that a new AppleWorks is in the works, and is supposedly very expanded in functionality. If Apple could put together a professional suite that read/imported Office docs completely (content, format, etc), then the above scenario wouldn't be out of the question. That'd be cool!!

It's actually pretty cool. Seems like a java version of M$ Office that works when connected to the web.

This channel is for Future hardware, not for software people.

I wish there was a Quad G4 1,4Ghz on my desk with all the games you can imagine.

My wish never came true because I aimed too high

Clearly, Steve is talking about the free Java at the coffee Bar. What a mean thing to do to us all.

I can only conclude that the ADVANCE-PAY attendance is WAY DOWN, the whole thing is about to implode (I, for one decided to bag the American Historical Association Meeting in SF this week and not go to MacWorld, even though this was a dream scenario for me before 9-11. Don't worry though, I will be on my way to Tokyo and Singapore in February.

They were also talking about a series of new consumer devices and a new slogan:

    Think simple. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

    My two cents.

    Possible:

    1. Apple does OS X for Intel macines (possibly with one maufacturer).

    or

    2. Apple does OS X for Sun macines.

    or

    3. Apple merges with xxx (e.g. Disney).

    Just silly thoughts,

    Dr. L

Just a question to help the rampant rumor mongering:

When is Apple's contract with MS up? (the one about not making any new browsers and bundling IE with the OS)

    Cyberdog X anyone?

BTW...I haven't read all 10 pages of this thread so I apologize if this has been mentioned before.

Why would Apple/Nintendo conspire to make a drive to read Game Cube games? Wouldn't it automatically bump the price up $200?
