Steve Jobs' daughter's $6.7M wedding draws high-profile guests
Xed said:AppleInsider said:Interestingly enough, Eve nor her siblings are set to inherit any of her late father's wealth. Her mother, Laurene Powell Jobs, has publicly stated that she plans to use the fortune for philanthropic endeavors, rather than passing it on to her children.
Whatever they get as an inheritance, particularly if MAMA Jobs cuts loose with some of it early so they can start investing and having that money compound over the years, however that assumes that they’re smart enough to invest it and not do anything stupid like the guy in the White House who inherited $400 million dollars in 1973 and his total net worth today shows that he didn’t have a clue in comparison to Warren Buffett or George Soros (net worth at the time was well under you know who) and if Soros hadn’t given away a large portion his net worth recently he would be well over 100 billion today….

After years of rumors, Apple now has a production prototype iPhone fold
s.metcalf said:Foldable phones are notoriously fragile. No chance in hell it could be as durable as a regular model.
Apple seems hell bent on pushing products that few people want of late.Upon its introduction, this appears to be a class-action lawsuit. Consider the current foldable phones being sold; there is hardly any discussion about their failure rates. However, once Apple’s version is released, every weakness of a folding phone will be extensively, reinforced and covered ad nauseam, Jerryrigged and iFixit will quickly create YouTube videos highlighting these issues, as will every other Tom, Dick, and Harry.
To date, the current manufacturers of folding phones have enjoyed a relatively favorable position regarding the durability of the crease (the elephant in the room). However, this will not be Apple’s fate. Lawyers lineup.

They essentially dismiss the long-range problems. They will not do that with Apple. Note that the article only has five lightweight responses.

Apple appeals against EU mandate that it freely share its technology
9secondkox2 said:Not only is it a privacy risk, it’s STEALING - illegal in snd of itself. Apple paid its own money, blood, sweat, and tears building its tech. And the EU wants to steal it and give it to everyone else? What the heck? Pure evil. They really aren’t even hiding it anymore. If all else fails, leave the EU. That’s just wrong. There is no way to defend that.In the end, the EU will come up with Apple sharing, making Apple Silicon/Mac OS work with Linux natively out of the box or anything else that comes up that originates from the EU countries in name of competition.
EU has a somewhat similar problem with China like the USA. It is a decade or two process to build the necessary infrastructure supply lines, however they like the USA are looking for easy shortcuts and there are no shortcuts. The time needed is a decade or two and you can’t get there by attacking some of the best schools and states in the land on the USA side.
