Apple Vision Pro review one year later: time to exit the preview
You’re lucky that you don’t have any issues with the weight. I’ve tried at least ten different iterations of the face cushions and none have been able to make it where I can wear the AVP for longer than a couple hours. It’s not so simple to do this either. I’ve had to buy them, try them on for a week or so and return them. Then repeat the process. I’ve even bought third party head gear hoping it would help. I’ve found a few but they just transfer the weight from my eyes to my forehead. I only use it for watching media because of this, as media usually is about 2 to 3 hours, the max before my face hurts too much. -
Three things Apple got wrong with the Vision Pro launch
To me it’s the fit that is the biggest issue. I knew what I was getting and at what price but comfort is key. I went through way too many light seals until I found the one I like. While the Apple Store by me was very nice about trying on different light seals, you truly don’t know how comfortable it is until you wear it for at least an hour or more. On top of that when you put on the ZEISS lenses it basically recommends a different size, adding to complexity. What I thought was a good fit, suddenly kept giving me warnings when putting on the zeiss lenses that I’m too close to the screen. The strap and solo knit band are part of the problem. The knit band puts too much pressure on my face to support the weight of the AVP, so I need a different size seal than if I use the strap that goes over your head. Hopefully third party accessories can help solve this problem but for almost 4000 dollars, this was hugely disappointing to me more than anything.

Calls for Tim Cook's resignation over Apple Intelligence miss that he has made Apple what ...
How’s the Metaverse doing? Facebook renamed their company because they thought the Metaverse was the next great thing. Missteps happen, but cook has been tremendous for Apple. I will say that Apple has shown signs of slipping and Apple Intelligence is the latest. I would even say that Vision Pro was rushed and he is spinning it as a product for early adopters. He deserves some grace but should be criticized when deserved. -
ResMed Kontor Head Strap for Apple Vision Pro review: bring balance to spatial computing
No matter how you slice it, all these third party accessories that claim to help with the weight, don’t. I’ve tried so many of them and none work. It’s just too heavy and I keep buying them thinking that this new one will be the one to help. I can’t wear the AVP longer than 2 hours no matter which of these I’ve tried. Hopefully in a few years the weight will be dramatically reduced because it really is a great product.
