Looks good to me. Not likely to buy one unless Apple does something really stupid like removing the only fricking port left on the phone in the next iteration.

From a stockholder's perspective, all I get from higher stock prices is a more impressive looking portfolio -- which until the stock is sold -- has zero actual value. Dividends are in my pocket, and after taxes, I get to take that money and …

Had my October 27 payment fail (second payment, first no issues), tried again yesterday within hours of notice that it failed, that one fails in about 16 hours. Nothing shows up on bank account, plenty of funds. So much for not screwing up a very e…

sandman619 said: apple ][ said: I'm just pulling this out of my butt, so basically, I'm doing the same things that analysts do when they speculate about Apple, but if we figure out an average of about a $5,000 limit per user, then that…

So, likely around a million cards/accounts. Not bad...

I don’t think there is anything that Apple really did wrong with ApplePay, and am curious why they would survey retailers rather than financial institutions— they are the ones that are “injured” by not allowing direct NFC access. That said, I think…

Is there any way to do it for workouts? Hate having swim distances in yards when using a pool that is metric length...

My ceramic watch is going on three years now, and despite its abuse shows no scratches on the body or screen. My original stainless watch was scratched badly in months by comparison. The ceramic watches also seem to have a better build quality, wi…

I get the no-GPS thing; a lot of places won’t let you take GPS coordinates of the sites (for a variety of reasons). The price is comparable to a high-end wireless air-integrated Suunto, so about where you would expect. Sadly though, I will admit th…

I actually overloaded a 6-port USB charger for the first time last night— a fairly robust unit, charging watch, small bluetooth speaker, iPad Pro, iPad, and two power banks. While that was a rare occurrence, exaggerated by the fact that my wife did…

For a college student, the iPad Pro keyboard is way too damage-prone to be a good investment. After six months mine has serious wear issues, and I am not hard on my stuff. But hey, if you can amortize the extra keyboards into your student loans why …

Just the other day I was looking for a good tool for technical drawings on iPad. I used to use SketchUp, but I don’t want to use a web app, especially on my iPad while traveling. Look ing forward to trying Graphic.

I will miss the world clock/weather. iStatPro was great back when I needed it, but mainly use other things now for that function. It is a shame Apple didn’t put more energy into it, but the way it has been it is likely best for it to die off.

What is the benefit of Back-to-my-Mac over direct SSH/VNC? Did it avoid the need to send a WOL packet sometimes, or just eliminate the need for a VPN? These types of solutions always scare me, as the local computer maintains network connections to…

About frigging time. No idea why they don’t support some form of multicast rather than relying on Bluetooth 5.

I still don’t get HomeKit. I much prefer a system isolated from the internet, and OpenHAB works well for that. You can pretty much be guaranteed that if it works with HomeKit it will work with OpenHAB, along with a lot more devices.

My only real gripes with the Apple keyboard are price, lack of function key, poor suitability as a stand when keyboard not required, and price. For me, it almost makes my iPad Pro a laptop replacement. While i could see using a dedicated bluetooth k…

Can you still just NetBoot a stationary computer and use the network storage for everything? I’ve eliminated my MacBook Air from my normal workflow; I generally use my iPad Pro instead and Remote Desktop or shell access to a cloud computer. Just n…

The question for me is how high of an interest rate is necessary to run a successful business and where it crosses over into greed. Well, start with ~5% risk free rate, add about 5% default rate, add the fact that people carrying balances are …

Hope this gest MS to update the Remote Desktop app soon; one app that needs every pixel available, sad it hasn’t been fixed yet. I get these “purge” type things... but it does kill some apps I really love and use regularly.
