Does anyone know if they might be fixing the screen tearing/ vsync issue? When I play videos through my computer into my plasma I get some hardcore tearing, it's really quite sad

what is interesting is that Powerbooks used to only have 2 finger scrolls, but recently after some update they gained 2 finger tap.

I love apple trackpads. I used to be bent on using a traditional mouse for video editing, but with all of the different gestures on the new trackpads they have become superior to the mouse. As a matter of fact, my set up is a MBP connected to a 23" …

Most consumer HD cams shoot in HDV, which is a format that isn't any larger (data wise) than SD DV. As a matter of fact it takes less space. So I don't think that there is a huge issue with not being able to store or transport data from HiDef cams.

Obviously there won't be a press conference on the 14th. They would have send out the invites by now.

Can someone explain to me once and for all, what repairing permissions actually does? It seems that whenever someone has a seemingly inexplicable problem, the recommended solution is always repair permissions.

That hurts my brain. Seems sort of un-apple like.

While that seems to make logical sense and would simplify production and so forth, we live in a world where product branding is much more important if you want to make money. It is important to differentiate the two product lines in order to be able…

It's a valid question. And I have similar concerns. From what I know, the first rev of MBPs had some issues with heat. Usually apple is quite reliable, but you never know. Anyone more knowledgeable care to comment?

Oh, and I also want 24 hour battery life.

Yeah I'm still waiting for the superconductor-electromagnetic cooler flumbo jumbo, so that the nexp MBP will be .01 inches thin and run at Mac Pro speeds. Come on Apple get your act together!

well, the macbook was technically a new product. It replaced the ibook, but still. Just seemed odd. But anyway, it still looks like we have about 6-8 weeks until any notebook refreshes, so we will see.
