you want ram with a low CAS latency number. 5 or 4 is common. CAS 5: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other.../53IM2DDR4GBK/ CAS 4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2%20x%202GB%29

format the drive as GUID partition map, otherwise, it will only backup a few gigs.

how did you put it on? is a widget with developer mode turned on? if so, click & hold. press the hotkey for dashboard to activate it. release the mouse. close the widget, & delete it from the widget preferences.

Use winclone for the Bootcamp partition. But for OS X, you just want to do the partition that has OS X. You don't clone a whole drive to an image, esp. with bootcamp! DU can't re-create the NTFS FS. Also, just doing the partiton will allow y…

haven't seen that method. you could try it. apple sells the whole thing as 1 piece, so you do in that case tear the whole thing apart. they can & have changed vendors, plugs, etc. for panels, so rolling the dice buying one first, asking question…

hate to say it but this sounds more like the logic board going out. my ibook did the same thing.

the chip has to be unsoldered & the new one soldered in place. fastmac.com wants $240. I think you would be better off trying to find a used Ti Book or something to fill the gap. Too risky & pricey for a machine that's about a decade old.…
