"i don't get this. the iphone already does this and more, what would a larger form factor give you other than something harder to transport?" The iPhone is not even close to a PDA! Missing some features? Yeah, like a BRICK is missing some PDA fea…

Just want to point out that the MacBook uses shared memory video, as the realists predicted. The realists are batting 1000, the dreamers are batting zero. Realists still say no Woodcrest in Macs.

And all of this nyah-nyah stuff has exactly what to do with Apple being at E3?

Mac Pros will be shown, but not orderable just yet. No changes to other hardware. Meroms not until fall. No Woodcrest in Macs; the Mac Pro will be a standard PC minitower, with slightly dressier white plastic, possibly even a standard BTX motherboa…

Today wouldn't have been good with all the E3 blockbusters going on. What, they would show it in their little suite? Not good. Better to wait a week or two. Besides, the 17" just came out. Let it bask in glory a little.

(sigh) it's been such a long time since Apple's ads actually showed a computer... but any advertising at all is better than none, I suppose. \

You missed an option. I would ONLY buy a MacBook if it is a tablet. No convertible crap. Should have bluetooth or USB for an external keyboard. But all the signs indicate that the MacBook will be just another 13" widescreen intel notebook just li…

I'd like the color they call "electric blue", a metallic, very light cold blue. I'd also like a dark gray slightly metallic color, one frequent poster here calls "gunmetal". The colors should be serious colors, not bright ones that people get tired…

I've never even unwrapped the VGA adapter for my iBook. I would guess fewer than 50% of iBook users ever connect their lappies to a monitor at all. Apple could save costs by eliminating that part.

Agree with podlife, I have a friend who's spent well over $1K on wireless headphones, and he says he can't recommend any of the Bluetooth ones. There are some analog headphones using proprietary protocols which are good; my uncle has an Advent set.

Same goes for the iBook. If you need a machine, get a refurb or look for a used machine or something, because the 13" intel macbooks are expected in a month or so.

Inasmuch as those drawings were from a design patent, that pretty much means it has to look exactly like that.

Strange, I thought there was an Intel Xscale (ARM) chip in the iPod.

Conroe is single-chip only, no dual-duals. The PM replacement needs to be affordable, so it won't be Woodcrests. As onlooker suggests, they will come in Xserve models only. If Woodcrest is delayed, the PM replacement might even use Yonahs. Yet mo…
