Have to remember that antitrust legislation saved Apple. As stated by Jony Ive “We (Apple) were within days of becoming bankrupt”. Then came Microsoft with an investment and a promise to deliver Mac applications as MS needed competition. It gave Apple the time needed to launch iMac and invest in iPod.

I am not sure how this relates to what Apple is facing now? Which are the small companies that need protection from Apple in the EU?

The AI Writing Tools are helpful. That said, I don't have an FB or an Instagram account, so it makes no difference to me. 

As for Whatsapp, I just use it to be updated on my extended family. I never write enough to have to use AI tools there, so I have never used Apple's Writing Tools, or whatever AI Bot Whatsapp is hawking now.

Having said that, I think this is a purely childish move by Meta to remove the writing tools. 
Meta wants to promote the usage of its own AI bot that has shown up on Whatsapp a couple of months ago, so having another AI helper would hamper their bot. 
Meta is on Apple devices very begrudgingly. They need the volume of users but would just as well have their Facebook phone be a smashing success and leave iPhone in the dust.
The relationship Meta has with its iOS users is very antagonistic.

I watched it recently and it still holds up.

I loved the dynamic between Ian and Poppy. They were never meant to be a couple, so the last episode kiss really threw the twisted dynamic away. Hope the final episode is entertaining. 

I enjoyed the series and am sad to see it end. 
At least there is Shrinking to look forward to (I hope!).

I don't understand all this snark being thrown around on Cook. He seems to be the right person to steer Apple in these very unpredictable times. 

He paid $1MM out of his personal pocket for the company and the direct and indirect dependents. 

We still have a few months till September. It will be most interesting to see what the landscape is like then.
