What a piece of garbage article. First of all, it's way WAY too long. Secondly, it seems to be written by an Apple Fanboy who wants to defend the App Store whatever it takes - typically AppleInsider style. And note: I use apple products all the time just in case you think I'm an 'Android fanboy', which is not.
Instead of ranting using over 600,000 words, why not interview multiple AppStore developers? They are the experts, not some AI journalist.
and seriously, wtf:
"Look at one of the biggest sensations to hit mobile tech lately: Pokemon Go. It's an app. And it's great at exploiting what apps are best at: providing new functionality and applying novel technologies--like Augmented Reality--to add value to existing hardware devices."
The author is bringing up a very rare hit with a very very unique world renown IP (which made billions of revenue in the past) to describe the App Store still being relevant? Come on!
That's the very rare exception. The 0.001%.
Stupid article. Instead of embracing the actual issue of developers not making any money anymore (besides the top 100 apps) and proposing solutions, this rant is truly the definition of irrelevant.
