  • IKEA expanding HomeKit lineup with new smart plugs in October

I visited IKEA, after a giving them a miss for about 7 years, and walked away with a bedroom wardrobe.  I forgot just what low quality crap they flog.  I nearly carted the POS out to the back lawn and annihilated it with a chain saw.  Apple and their products don't even come into the equation ... it will be 700 years before I give IKEA my custom again.

Apple doesn't care about market share. If they could make higher profits by doing it, Apple would be happy to sell just to the 1%. Apple is like Tiffany or Ferrari.
Good point but to think Apple wouldn't want 70% of the market with these profits is insane.
The good point is just a view pulled out of the vacuum ... unless @Nunzy is, in fact, sitting on the Apple board.

If only someone would find DED a decent editor and proofreader to reduce these rambling, haystack articles to their needle-worth of content.
How about this? You submit an editorial piece to AppleInsider. Assuming they accept it and publish it let’s see what kind of critiques it gets from the AI ecosystem. I dare you! I double dog dare you! Or are you one of those who claim to know how to get somewhere but can’t drive the car?
I see both sides here.  The ratio of meat to length in this specific article (IMO) was < 1 but ... I could never do the job of an editor either.

  • Law firm that extracted $450M settlement in Apple e-books case is going after company for ...

This law firm does not actually believe they have a case. They are simply making a fuss hoping Apple will settle to make the negative press go away.
Did the law firm advise you personally that this was their motive?
    georgie01 said:
The only argument they will ever be able to make is that it makes consumers unhappy that Apple slowed down phones in specific circumstances in order to fix a shutdown problem due to aging batteries so that the device works more smoothly.
Did the law firm engage you as a consultant and your considered legal advice was that there was only one argument?
    georgie01 said:
That will go nowhere in the court and the law firm knows it.
Did the law firm advise you personally that this was their conclusion?

FaceID is awful! I have to type in my passcode the majority of the time to access my phone. Need directions while you’re driving? Better pull over because you have to fully interact with the phone to unlock it to get directions. This is the iPhone I strongly dislike!
Signed up for an account just to say that huh?  The vast majority of users and professional tech media disagree with you.  I’ve never had trouble with FaceID myself and my brother-in-law just said today, “It’s amazing, I’m black and it’s dark at night and it still sees me and unlocks every time.”
I mean what if he did sign up just to say that ... so what?  He just gave his personal opinion.  Claiming the 'vast majority of users and professional tech media disagree' is pure speculation and doesn't suddenly make your opinion informed and his misguided.

What are you doing accessing your phone while you’re driving? That’s illegal in most states so quit complaining.
Good point but maybe a chance (I don't know) that operating a phone whilst driving isn't illegal in Prague !
