Nonsense. At least for my comment it has nothing to do with being a “fanboy”. 
I’ve studied photography. My conclusions are based on that as well as looking at typical smartphone photos such as on Facebook. 
I can count on one hand the number of people I’ve known who take macro shots. Putting Samsung’s better macro quality at the same level as the iPhone X’s superior skin tone accuracy is not valid in terms of importance for the typical user.

I’m in the same situation.
The 6 is very good but the X has a bigger screen in about the same form factor.
By the end of the year I’ll probably be shopping for the new, ~$100 cheaper version of the 5.8 inch iPhone X.

Skin tones look more natural on the iPhone which imo is a very important thing with a smartphone camera (taking pictures of people). Also the Samsung completely missed the color of the deck on the pond shot (in the video) while the iPhone nailed it. 

Samsung has some tricks with unusual uses like closer macro shots & panoramic selfies. 

The low light comparison was in such dark conditions that the pro camera taking the video couldn’t handle it well. 

The iPhone X is better with typical smartphone uses.

Agreed but I would add even more. 
Apple is a niche company. Microsoft has had about 90% desktop OS marketshare for over 20 years. 
Google Android has had about 80% mobile OS marketshare for several years. 

By understanding basic facts and Apple’s business model, it is understood that Apple has always had strong competition.
