  • 2021 Apple TV 4K Review: Seeking a blockbuster, given a Band-Aid

Funny the review fails to mention the new remote is not usable for games. So unlike the “old” Siri remote, you have to drop another $60 on a controller if you want to play games. Yes, I know the Siri remote isn’t the best controller but at least it was an option (and fine for certain styles of games).

NBA 2K is a joke on ATV. The Switch runs 2K better, even in handheld mode. I’ve pretty much all but given up on playing games on my ATV. There is really no compelling reason to.

  • Comcast extends 1.2TB monthly Xfinity data cap to nearly all customers

I specifically left Comcast for this reason. They gave me the same line about “95% of users not hitting the limit” but apparently I’m in the 5%. I have a 6 person household with a slew of device (phones, iPads, laptops, consoles, etc) and we primarily stream all our TV. Every month I was over the 1TB limit so I had to either pay overages or an additional $50 a month for unlimited. Switched to AT&T and I now get unlimited data automatically since I have TV service with them as well. I will 1000% NEVER use Comcast again or suggest anyone does. EVER.

These caps are 100% artificial and if 95% don’t hit them, what’s the point? Comcast has already stated the caps are not due to congestion or network management.

  • Spending time with HomePod mini and why we're already hooked

I ordered 2 as replacements for my Echo Dots. So glad to finally be rid of Alexa & go 100% Siri/HomeKit. For me, music was an afterthought.

  • 'HomePod mini' leak suggests spherical, compact design

For those saying they are throwing out their Echo devices to get these are you nuts. Alexa is miles ahead of Siri. Miles.
I guess our experiences differ. I have several smart plugs, Hue light bulbs, door locks, smart devices, etc in my home. Most are compatible with Alexa & Homekit. I am CONSTANTLY having issues with Alexa failing to recognize my devices. I reset them, completely removed them & re-added them, even changed out my Dots to newer models but the issues ALWAYS come back. If Alexa says “sorry I cannot find the device named ...” one more time I’ll loose it. This always results in me grabbing my iPhone or Apple Watch (before I broke it) and issuing the same command for it to worse flawlessly. Not sure how they stack up in other aspects but for me, being a way to voice control my smart home - Siri & Homekit are a MILLION times more reliable & less frustrating.

My Dots are all being replaced ASAP with the Mini.

*This is my personal experience & can’t speak for anyone else*

  • Zagg reportedly developing charging mat inspired by Apple's failed AirPower

There are already devices that can charge multiple iPhones or an iPhone & AirPods without needing to be placed in any special orientation, like the Zens Liberty. Problem is, neither the Liberty or this product from Zagg, will charge an Apple Watch sans the puck like AirPower would have.
