Mac mini, iMac, iMac Pro, or Mac Pro - which desktop Mac to buy in March 2020
"I'm not sure what you mean by "drive flexibility" as it pertains to the T2."I understand the T2 is part of the drive controller and part of the move to 'onboard' OEM only SSD storage... Threading the needle might be the current i9 iMac, still able to run 32 bit apps (installing Mojave) and drives can presumably be changed with kits from OWC and others... Things seem to be decreasingly flexible with Mac hardware, and I understand sales are apparently declining?

Apple cancelled encrypted iCloud plans after the FBI complained
I have long hoped Apple might offer customers an easy distributed cloud option within the server app, perhaps akin to owncloud.org long on my to do list, and improve the ease of S/MIME certificate email encryption in mail, for the rest of us...

Apple's Mac mini is the little Mac that could, 15 years later
bobolicious said:2011 mini:
i7 (hyperthreaded)
gpu (discrete, 4K/2x TB 27" support)
slotted ram (upgradable, non OEM)
slotted twin drive bays (upgradable, non OEM)
clear anodized AL (more wear resistant/sustainable)Upgrade speed/cores/specs on this form factor and my wallet will happily open again...
Please... What am I missing, except maybe a Kensington lock slot ???
i7 (hyper threaded) with 6 cores instead of only 4.
Blackmagic eGPU (other options if you don't care about quiet... tons of powerful GPU choices!)
slotted RAM
super fast SSD w/ easy external SSD or spinning disc expandability
What am I missing?perhaps the idea of 'mini'...?also perhaps of note all this flexibility and expandability starting at $899, including a gpu and fusion / raid capability...?
