  • Apple unveils new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Magic Keyboard

Really disappointed not seeing the 16" being upgraded to the 10th gen processors, ATI, or a better GPU.
The 13" is a weird product. To me it seems you're better off buying the Air, because a "Pro" machine with integrated graphics doesn't really seem appealing at all.
Here we go with the what does Pro mean shit. Ever think that not everyone needs a dGPU? Even "pros"?
Following your line, then apple should have a Macbook Pro 16 without dGPU, since not everyone needs a dGPU, right?
If they did, they could always use an eGPU at their desk if they happened to need more GPU performance and also have a nice light travel laptop at the same time.
What about users that need to work at the office and home, travel frequently?  Does it makes sense you to carry on the dGPU or maybe buy two of them?  Or it will be better for them to have a light laptop with optional dGPU, like companies like HP and Lenovo do with their mobile workstations?

  • COVID-19 disaster shows off Apple's true core

Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Amazon have all made various ineffectual announcements about their ad policies. At the same time, they continue to allow frauds to promote and sell fake masks, bogus cures, disinfection robots that don't do anything, and disseminate false information on their social ad networks -- all while taking a cut profiting from advertising this fraudulent activity. Incredibly, this is being done in full public view.
Isn't Apple taking a cut too by receiving billions of dollars from Google every year by making their search engine the default in Safari?  Maybe Apple should stop receiving money from Google, and change the default search engine to a company with better privacy track, in addition of removing Google Search / YouTube, Facebook / Instagram, Twitter and Amazon apps.  Based in your post, it would be the best for Apple customers, right?
Apple doesn't inject fraudulent messaging in front of users and take a cut of it. YouTube very much does. Facebook/IG does. Twitter does. Apple maybe has a problem with apps that are trying to defraud people, but it actively roots those things out.

Google pays for access to Appe's platforms, but that access does not allow it to shove ads or videos in front of people.
My point is not about ads or videos Google shoved to users, but from a business POV.  Do you think that Apple should support and do business with a company that, based in your own editorial, "allow frauds to promote and sell fake masks, bogus cures, disinfection robots that don't do anything, and disseminate false information on their social ad networks -- all while taking a cut profiting from advertising this fraudulent activity."?  Would you make default a search engine or allow in your app store something from companies with the description you gave?

  • Mac shipments down 21% year-on-year in global PC market shrink

Apple’s market share is minuscule. Their overall pricing is higher than PC’s. Overall Apple’s products are of a higher quality, but you pay a premium for that. In a recession price sensitivity increases and I would predict demand for all of Apple’s products, including iPhones, will decrease significantly. The PC world is still dominated by Windows. The growth of cloud services should increase the ability of Apple to sell product in the corporate world, but the price premium may ultimately hinder that.
Yes, Windows 10 is good, and Windows Azure, Office 365, etc., are ever better, ever cheaper. Yes the Windows Surface line is great if you're a Windows user. Yes, generic Windows PCs are also even better, even cheaper (relatively) than they were in the oh-so-long-ago 1990s. If you're also a Google Docs and Android user (whoopie, choices!) you're presumptively, arguably, demonstrably well integrated. On the other hand, nothing, I repeat nothing, is as well-integrated as Apple's hardware/software ecosystem. When I'm in the zone -- iPhone, iPad Pro, iMac, and Apple Watch all engaged -- it's as though the machine-human interface of the future is already here. Check out Federico Viticci's well-documented adventures with the iPad Pro if you don't believe me. Silly fanboy differences aside, the future is looking brighter than ever, closer than ever, to Richard Brautigan's "Machines of Loving Grace."
I agree with you that Apple has a well integrated hardware / software ecosystem. But Apple ecosystem falls behind as soon as you enter business / enterprises, where MS dominates completely.  The ecosystem MS have is very strong, and while they supports Apple devices, the integration Windows have in that ecosystem still far better.  IMO, that's the reason the still dominate the business / enterprise market.

  • Don't upgrade Pages, Numbers, or Keynote for iOS if you rely on WebDAV

Agree with all the above comments.
I'm not a fan of Tim Cook and the changes he is continuing making under his tenure, and I'm constantly being proven right. But its been good for the share price and the investors though, and that what he probably cares about.
I am not a stockholder but am a developer, and am very happy with the work Apple has achieved under Cook. Excellent products and platforms, the best iterations of them by far. I gladly purchased new Macs (mini, iMac, MBP), multiple iPads and iPhones, multiple Watches, multiple AirPods, multiple ATVs, and many services. The platforms are vastly superior to the knockoffs such as android and windows.

“But mah WebDAV!” If you believe normals use this, you’re sorely mistaken. I doubt many small businesses do either. I work enterprise and we use commercial cloud services...the writing is on the wall. If you’re a fringe case that’s fine, but that isn’t what a mass market consumer company caters to.
I think you are exaggerating that Apple platforms are "vastly superior".  If we talk about enterprise ecosystems, MS is the leader and far ahead of Apple.  For consumers, there are cases where Apple is better, like (IMO) iPads and iMacs.  But there are others were competition is as good or better than Apple.
