    Retirement later in the year. 
    So how do justify calling it turmoil when it has been planned for and the plan still has time to run. 

    I get you need grabby headlines and Apple to keep business as usual in a country gone mad is likely to turn some people off. 

    I would have thought putting the team directly under the CEO who you think is fairly busy but also sign they are supportive of the next tier of the leadership team to keep things moving along but aren’t ready to name someone as head.  Maybe they want to let a larger team shine move away from “single personality” narratives.

    An M5 lite or mobile would make sense. 
    Maybe they could follow up OS26 alignment with M5 alignment in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL & XXL. Ultra being 2 max’s or XL’s bonded together anyway. 

    What makes sense between the A series is they make them in volume orders of magnitude higher than the M series at peek let alone in trailing products.

    Now if the M5 embeds the function of the R1 because the new OS26 variants all take advantage of that hardware then there could be a drop in hardware complexity and the amount of R&D it needs to cover. 

    Might not drop the price $3k plus tariffs but would be reasonable jump and means they could offer maybe Mpro version back at $3,500 to start testing what the market will bear. 

    Sad the rumour isn’t for M5pro in there and a price drop.

    It’s certainly not a definitive yes. 
    So I’m with Betteridge here.

    Would have been more interesting if you looked at reasonable alternatives to each service and the potential friction saved by Apples own solution. I say that as a very happy customer of the family plan, having been screwed over by highly respected photo archives in the past. Still understand the other people on my family plan probably wouldn’t find it worth keeping it without me. Indeed they are in the family to make my life easier.
