I wish I heard it from the horse's mouth, the justification for why Apple makes these decisions. An interview with an Apple exec that would ask these questions and get straight answers. It would make people feeing less like they're being ripped off when they buy Apple stuff.

Because most people don’t use them, they do cost money to make, and no the box has not been designed yet. 

I would say most people use them, and some people do not want wireless (because RF radiation, cost, battery life). Wired is still best, and most convenient. They just work, reliably. Apple should offer free EarPods with every new iPhone purchase, if people want them. That would be best.

Would be nice if they extended the installments to refurbished devices.

So they went with the black face for the red one. I think it looks better than white.

The iPhone 8 has already seen dramatic price cuts today to well less than the 2020 iPhone SE - we'll be talking about this soon enough.

And, it has a headphone jack.
