It’s hilarious and pathetic to see Epic complain they have to pay Apple to use their App Store and then complain they won’t have access to Apple’s freely provided development tools. Why do they think they deserve these things for free? That’s so infantile and entitled. As long as they aren’t developing their own platform and building the devices their work needs and building a huge customer base with that work, then their perspective is childish and arrogant.

Smartphones are now an expected element of culture in many ways, and because of that Epic believes Apple has an obligation to provide free and open access not only to Apple’s designs, APIs, development tools, but also their ecosystem, and therefore Apple’s reputation (if they do a bad job independently). Apparently they aren’t making enough money, and obviously they would have been as successful as they are without Apple. In fact, Epic actually owns Apple’s App Store, morally speaking, because they’re just so inherently awesome and important. (Sarcasm)

Except that a moderate socialist when it comes to US government leaders isn’t as moderate as it once used to be. Even Biden—who is relatively moderate—already has plans to spend trillions of dollars we don’t have. And do you really have confidence he is strong enough to not bow even more to social and political pressure by more radical socialists? Not to mention the multitrillion dollar coronavirus package by ‘moderate’ socialist thinking in the House—part of which does not even directly address coronavirus relief, yet they won’t back down.

I mentioned the other day that Spanish media were picking up on the requirement that US software not be made available in AppGallery and today they are reporting that these latest moves could provoke a wide ranging counter attack from China given the amount of investments Tencent has worldwide. They are claiming that the damage would be more than US attempts to derail Huawei. 

What I see in what you’re saying is evidence that a global economy is a pipe dream. Of course people will say, ‘But if everyone just did <this or that> then it’ll work great!’ It is not possible that we can have a world of people who agree on one approach, or that there won’t be bad actors in positions of power.

As an independent I totally agree. Those who bend over backwards to criticise Trump show depressing levels of hypocrisy. They’ll even complain about Trump being divisive while simultaneously trying to get their political base angry at and hating the US President...not sure how much more hypocritical someone can get.
