Apple threatens to close Epic Games developer account on Aug. 28
It’s hilarious and pathetic to see Epic complain they have to pay Apple to use their App Store and then complain they won’t have access to Apple’s freely provided development tools. Why do they think they deserve these things for free? That’s so infantile and entitled. As long as they aren’t developing their own platform and building the devices their work needs and building a huge customer base with that work, then their perspective is childish and arrogant. -
Epic sues Apple after Fortnite removed from App Store
How quickly we as a culture become complacent and feel entitled...
Smartphones are now an expected element of culture in many ways, and because of that Epic believes Apple has an obligation to provide free and open access not only to Apple’s designs, APIs, development tools, but also their ecosystem, and therefore Apple’s reputation (if they do a bad job independently). Apparently they aren’t making enough money, and obviously they would have been as successful as they are without Apple. In fact, Epic actually owns Apple’s App Store, morally speaking, because they’re just so inherently awesome and important. (Sarcasm) -
Foxconn says trade war means China can no longer be 'the world's factory'
mknelson said:That's a weak argument, cherry picking one "socialist" government that's failing. Venezuela's economy is hampered by sanctions and corruption.
US "socialists" are primarily looking for solutions to health care and poverty reduction like in continental Europe, Sweden, UK, Canada…The issue with many US socialists is that they have become so complacent with being successful as a nation they don’t understand that money isn’t ‘just there’. There has to be incentive to get people to make the money they do. Whether that incentive is greed doesn’t really matter, because these people making tons of money benefit the entire nation. -
US WeChat ban could cut global iPhone shipments by 30%, says Ming-Chi Kuo

I mentioned the other day that Spanish media were picking up on the requirement that US software not be made available in AppGallery and today they are reporting that these latest moves could provoke a wide ranging counter attack from China given the amount of investments Tencent has worldwide. They are claiming that the damage would be more than US attempts to derail Huawei. If the ban on WeChat or TikTok or Hauwai, which are meant to limit China’s ability to accomplish their goals through illegal or harmful means, eventually leads to more separation of governments, economy, and cultures, that’s an extremely good thing. ‘Globalisation’ in theory sounds great, but in practise is unrealistic and will ultimately lead to very bad things. -
