  • Apple opposing US government intervention in lawsuit against Corellium

iOS should be sold separately and available for multi-platform installation.
Right ... and in the same action would reduce the appeal. iOS does what it does best because it’s a closed, protected, and a controlled system with limited hardware support.

  • Why Apple may bring Xcode to the iPad, and what it has to do

I would be really happy to have Xcode on an iPad. Like another poster here said, it’s pretty much the only reason I use my Mac.

I have to disagree with the developer in the article saying how things like command line access is necessary for development. It is necessary for some development, entirely dependent on how the developer setup their project. I’ve been doing development (professionally) for 20 years and the only times I’ve had to use the command line were with certain projects that used 3rd party libraries (which I already dislike...) that needed download and/or compilation via the command line. I’ve never started a project that needs that and I never plan to—3rd party libraries die out and make things far more difficult to update when they do.

  • Former T-Mobile CEO John Legere leaves board 'to pursue other options'

I don’t know if any of the great T-Mobile ideas were from him but either way I hope they don’t lose their way. He was a good figurehead even though he was somewhat nutty.

  • Senator demands Tim Cook be personally accountable for any contact tracing privacy failure...

The article didn't state which party the Senator belongs to, so I looked it up.  No surprise here.  'Nuf said.
Right ... a senator pushing for personal responsibility should be criticised as being a product of a faulty political party. What does that say about the ‘other’ political party? That we are responsible for the decisions we make only when the consequence either doesn’t hurt us or when there is political benefit in placing blame?

Whether or not Tim Cook should take as much responsibility as this senator is suggesting, it is certain that he is ultimately responsible for the decisions Apple makes. Acting as CEO doesn’t mean it’s no longer him making decisions.

This is so true. The general public is naive, thinking the rights they’re giving away right now will never be taken away again except for something super serious. On the contrary, because of this virus we are now at serious risk of more and more government leaders using this or that excuse to restrict citizens in the name of public safety.

The governor of MI is already showing this in going way beyond sensible safety in her restrictions. And like a petty child she even threatened further restrictions in response to some people protesting.

Our founders fought to the death for freedom, but now we’re itching to give up whatever we can out of fear over a virus which will hurt far less people than a crumbling economy and the loss of valuing freedom.
