  • Tim Cook says Apple has donated more than 10 million masks to fight COVID-19

Awesome! It’ll work better if companies like Apple help out in these ways rather than government poking their bloated nose into it if not necessary.

  • How to use a Bluetooth mouse or trackpad with iPad and iPadOS 13.4

Seems really silly to me and takes away the intimacy of touching the screen being the means of interaction. I know that’s ordinary now since the iPad has been out 10 years, but I just don’t see the purpose except the appease people who think an iPad needs to have a keyboard and mouse in order to be a ‘real’ computer. I’ve been using the iPad for serious work since the first model in 2010.

  • Tim Cook, Eddy Cue exposed to coronavirus at birthday party

Can we please stop feeding the panic by posting news stories about how someone we don’t personally know might possibly have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19?

Our obsession and fear has so far caused more problems than the virus itself.

  • Apple fined $1.2 billion by French antitrust watchdog

Bravo, as BS as the battery lawsuit is, as appropriate is this.

Any other products you can get heavily discounted, due to competition, but Apple manages to keep all distributors and retailers in line, best discounts are a few dollars off, or some “bundle deal”

The issue isn’t that ‘heavily’ discounted new Apple products aren’t available. That’s not inherently unfair or illegal. The issue is whether Apple used illegal means to accomplish more-or-less consistent pricing.

Apple wants to maintain a public perception in part using price. Whether you agree with that or not is irrelevant. The price of a product affects the vast majority of people’s perception of that product. If all new Lamborghinis cost the same as a Ford Fiesta it wouldn’t have the same reputation even if everyone knew they were getting an amazing deal. Apple can use price perception to their advantage as long as they’re not breaking the law, and I’m not sure that the French Competition Authority has an indisputable case.

  • Future iPhone may keep your data private by tracking where you look

That’s cool. I hope it pans out to be more than just an idea. If Apple implements it it’ll likely be surprisingly good.
