  • Apple Music pulled R. Kelly from curated playlists weeks ago amid abuse allegations, repor...

“Alleged”. Apparently that word doesn’t mean what it used to. Look, I get it, R. Kelly doesn’t have the best track record and these accusations aren’t pretty, but he still hasn’t been proven guilty. I wonder, if Drake or Kendrick Lamar had these allegations against them, would Apple take the same stance? I’m not saying those two have, but R. Kelly is far from the only musician or artist to have bad behavior.

I do, though, think it was mean of AppleInsider to hold a gun to AnalogJack's head and force him to watch the video, read the article, and leave a comment ...

He definitely has a point. Anecdotal, I know, but my wife and her friends will not even consider anything other than an iPhone. When it came time to upgrade, it was between an 8 and a X, not a Pixel, Galaxy, etc. When I mentioned the Pixel and it’s arguably superior camera, she dismissed it and said she didn’t care about that. But when she finally decided on the X, it was.... because it had a better camera than the 8. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Even if a camera is marginally better (even that is consistently true for different criteria), it is that access to the proverbial garden, that you buy and use. Transition between devices for every day internet browsing, note taking and other such activities, is almost seamless. Passwords are stored and can be accessed via iCloud, tabs opened on iPhone automatically can be picked up and opened on any other iDevice or Mac without any fiddling. It saves time and helps you concentrate on what is important. And you stress out less, when using a device - something is very important in the long term.
Trust me, I agree. We have two X’s, both of us have Apple Watches, a family MacBook, Apple TVs for every television set in our house, and an iPad for our son. The integration is unparalleled, and definitely relieves stress. I also like to be an informed consumer, though, and will always do my research on all the options in a marketplace. My point was that there are people, not unlike my wife, that won’t even do that, and will only ever consider whatever the newest iPhone is when it comes time for replacement.

  • Apple HomePod preorders outpaced all other smartspeakers, except Amazon Echo Dot

As soon as Apple makes a wireless HomePod, a la the Bose Soundlink, it will be an instant buy from me. Being in the military, we deploy months at a time, and I can’t justify the purchase of a speaker I can’t take with me when I’m gone. Amazing product, just put a battery in it!
