  • Rumored Apple Watch Pro could cost $900

For a watch. Let that sink in…
I paid much more than that for my Rolex Explorer II but I think Apple has jumped the shark here with $900. The TAG Connected wasn’t much more than this and TAG is a watch company but Apple knows there are people out there to buy it.
Agreed, watch prices can be quite insane at the “high” end, let alone the truly luxury category. Your Rolex will probably still be working when/if you decide to pass it down to grandkids one day. $900 for a wrist computer that will be obsolete in a few years is an entirely different pill to swallow.

  • 'iPhone 14' may have eSIM-only option, but it won't be universal

I have no desire to go back to the bad old days of having to call support just to change phones.  eSIM is stupid.

(I remember when US Cellular used to charge $25 every time you got a new phone, for the 'service' of typing in a new MEID.)
Fully agree. I just had to go through the nightmare or switching my eSIM around from my 13 Pro Max to a backup phone during repair, and then back to the new Pro Max. What used to be a 5 second process of swapping over a SIM card turned into 2 hours of chat and phone support with T-Mobile EACH TIME that I eventually just spent the $10 for a physical SIM card and transferred my number to that. They claim it’s easy, and have a tab on my account page to change the sim, but the link only ever goes to a support page with a number, never actually letting me do anything. What a nightmare.

  • Compared: 16-inch MacBook Pro vs Razer Blade 15 Advanced

These are laptops which means they will often be used without a connected power supply. This article fails to mention the enormous performance difference when not connected to a power supply.
My guess is that most PC gaming laptops are going to be mostly used plugged in to power, and only rarely as a laptop - they're a compromise for people who can't afford a cheap laptop AND a gaming desktop PC, but are happy enough with what they get. College students, perhaps?

It's been about five years since I had a work laptop (MBP) and I almost always used it at a desk anyway.
Pretty narrow-minded view. I don’t want a big, hulking desktop wasting space in my house. I also travel about 20-30 weeks of the year for work, and would like to be able to play my games during downtime in the hotel. I could easily afford the latest and greatest gaming desktop rig available to buy, even at current market prices, but I choose to have a laptop that can game because of its portability. Some of us view it as a perk instead of a hindrance.

  • MagSafe 15W fast charging reportedly restricted to Apple 20W adapter

That seems odd. While the argument that a compatible PD profile is needed, Apple themselves state in writing that iPhone 12 is "Fast-charge capable: Up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes11 with 20W adapter or higher (sold separately)".
The 'or higher' would indicate the their 30W, 61W or 96W would be just as capable. Has AI reached out to AAPL for comment?
In Apple terms, Fast-charge and MagSafe are two completely different things. Fast-charge is using a USB-C to Lightning cable plugged directly into the phone using an Apple 20W adapter or any USB-C adapter that shipped with a MacBook. MagSafe, using the Apple-branded 20W USB-C adapter, will reach 15W, but this is slower than the maximum wattage when plugging a Lightning cable directly into the phone. It also generates more heat, which then kicks in the throttling, thus making the device not reach 15W charging at all times, only at peak, perfect temperature conditions.

  • Comparing AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon's unlimited 5G wireless plans for iPhone 12

T-Mobile’s Magenta Military is a no-brainer for anyone who qualifies for it. We have 3 lines of Magenta Plus-equivalent perks for $90, taxes and fees included. And any line we add after that is $10 each.
