Apple Vision Pro storage cabinets appear in stores ahead of launch
1982Applelb2Service said:The cart was most like to work at Best Buy stores with a little difference configuration. But at the price of these VR headsets, I am not sure who is really going to be able to afford it. Working at a Best Buy over Christmas you see retail sales slumping dramaticly. I worked for Facebook Meta a year ago, and I even had a hard time selling a $500 headset to customers.
When most of the jobs in the county only pay like $18 dollars an hours, these headsets will never take off at this price point, I even saw people not buying the Meta Quest 3 and buying the Meta Quest 2, even being 4 year old VR technology it sold better than the Quest 3 this christmas. -
iPhone 15 Pro Max will still be the best-selling model in early 2024, says Kuo

First, for all the "Apple's prices are too high," posts, its most expensive phone--and the only phone to have its base price raised in the U.S.--is Apple's best seller, and not by a small margin. Second, that 5X tetraprism lens which is helping to drive sales is easily outperformed by the 3X lens it replaced in most picture-taking situations where the telephoto lens is used. (Many comparison photos in online reviews, including the review published by AI, document this.) It is only when shooting at focal lengths of 120mm and above that the new lens is superior.
The iPhone 15 Pro is going to be an even bigger seller when people see the spacial video results with the Apple Vision.....
Apple is always told by the MBA/Financial Analyst types that going cheap large marketshare is the answer for everything.
As for the phone sizes, as long as Apple continues to offer somewhat smaller phones, things will be good. If Jobs was still around, would be great to hear what he would say when handed the MAX size phone. I believe he thought phones should be easily used with one hand. I’ve been in it since the first iphone and we all know the size and weight just keeps going up. I’ve always used the non pro phones but considering my first Pro model. It would be the 6.1 15 Pro. Lighter and cheaper then the Max and does nearly everything Max does. Oh, it’s also better for one hand use. -
Ordering Apple Vision Pro gets more complex with face scan
Rogue01 said:applebynature said:Yup, we've known about the required facial scanning for proper fit since June.
I'm curious how big of a fiasco it's going to be to go into an Apple Store to demo a unit. They should do it by appointment with a required face scan before the appointment so everything is ready for you to try out. If they're just allowing everyone to come in to wait around in the store for one of the scarce demo units to be available, then having to go through a fitting and set up process along with being trained how to use it, man that will be a disaster with the time involved and so many waiting around to try it. But on the other hand, I can see people going to the store to try it out and being told, oh you have to make an appointment, the next one is in 3 weeks, and that not going over too well with customers either, so who knows.
And remember, most consumers wear prescription lenses so another $150 for special lenses will a big deal breaker, especially when prescriptions typically change year after year for people that do wear glasses. -

Ming-Chi Kuo: Investors should be cautious about Apple Vision Pro launch hype
This product launch will be interesting. I’m trying to understand the point of VR products, other than gaming or some kind of simulator training. Just finding it hard to believe this is a mass market product. I’m thinking niche market here. Asking people to sit around or stand around with a computer strapped to their heads is a really big ask. Besides, i think wearing it may be bad for the wearers hair.
