Apple Vision Pro finally on sale outside the US
ravnorodom said:It baffles me that customers outside U.S. went for it despite it costing $500 more than the States. Apple product hype is no joke 😲For example, using Spotlight exchange rates, US$3500 = AU$5248, but we have 10% GST here, so ~$5773, and it's rounded up to $6000. Yes, it's slightly more expensive, but not US$500, and we do have better consumer rights too (i.e. longer warranty terms based on how long a product "should" last). -

Canon's RF-S dual fisheye lens will help produce Apple Vision Pro video
Very confusing of Canon to release two 3D lenses at nearly the same time, but the larger lens version you've shown here is the "RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM":The one shown in Apple's keynote is for Spatial 3D capture that's not "Immersive", and it's the "RF-S 7.8mm f/4 STM" shown here: https://petapixel.com/2024/06/10/apple-promoted-an-unannounced-dual-lens-canon-optic-coming-this-year/ -
Keychron Q5 Review: A full-sized mechanical keyboard in a compact shell
charlesatlas said:Based on my experience, I recommend brown switches. Reds are too soft and mushy and blues are rather noisy with their high pitched clicks. Also, the problem with standard Keychron keyboards is that they're quite thick. You'll need a wristrest. I like my K3, which is one of their low-profile models. Too bad they don't have a 96% low-profile keyboard. I do miss having a numeric keypad. One thing that's bugging me about a number of these new custom keyboards is the inconsistency around the availability of Home, End, Page Up and Page Down. Sometimes one is missing, sometimes (as here) two. Obviously you could use the / and * on the number pad, but there are some weird compromises being made. -
