After getting countless offers for another free trial of News+, I clicked on this offer last night while half asleep, assuming it was the same thing. It wasn’t, and I was charged $9.99. So I immediately canceled and submitted a refund request today. I’m not complaining, as it’s on me for having assumed that I was one of the “eligible subscribers only” referenced in the fine print since I get these offers almost weekly. I’m only writing to warn others not to make the same mistake I did. This is literally only for those who have never tried it before, regardless of how many notifications and emails they send to lure you back.

And you assume this never crossed Apple engineer’s minds when they were developing this product? Really? They didn’t care if their case erased your credit card? Really? 

Why jump down his (?) throat?  It's a valid concern.  Obviously Apple designed with this in mind, but what's wrong with waiting for independent confirmation?  Has Apple never done anything wrong with a version 1 product?  (as if)

And vegans would do the same to vegetarians (exploiting animals even if you don't mean to kill them, think 'bees'), but do we really think this forum is the place for these sorts of comments/arguments? But, people love to prove themselves superior by stating the attitudes in themselves on a public forum which places them above others.

Big effing yawn.

I didn’t get the sense that any of the people on this thread that actually identified as vegetarian or vegan were acting superior at all.

Maybe. Or maybe this move is too little too late for Apple. Time will tell. But either way, it sure seems like Apple bowed down to Facebook this time.

What are the chances that these and the AirPods Studio get released via press release? I mean, do they REALLY need an event in order to be launched? AirPods Pro, iPhone SE, and iPad Pro were all released this way in just the last 12 months, and they are all arguably more major releases.
