    I don’t give a shit if it IS Apple…there’s no way that an app which literally detects and records the people in my vicinity is going anywhere near my iPhone. Are you kidding me?

    I can’t wait to see how Apple sells this Orwellian trojan horse to people. And I really can’t wait to see how the kool-aid drinkers around here try to spin it. 

    “But, but… what about Apple & privacy?” Yes, it’s true that we give Apple more of our trust than most other companies. But it’s only a matter of time before governments around the world achieve their ultimate goal of unfettered backdoor access to everyone’s devices. Can we really trust that one of them won’t use this information nefariously?

    That last question was rhetorical.

    I read their NYT article explaining their rational in dropping “HBO” from the brand name and adding tons of crappy reality TV:

    …they feel their audience is too limited due to be associated with high-quality programming. Insane. It’s like BMW saying they’d sell more cars if they made cheaper, crummier vehicles and then advertising that they not all about premium vehicles. Well, yeah. But that isn’t why your customers sought you out. That isn’t your brand. 

    Pandering to Wall Street customer growth numbers by execs with no vision. I won’t be renewing after my previous annual promo expires.

  • Apple Music Classical waltzes onto iPhone

    I opened the app intending to listen to Shostakovich, and 3-4 lines down that’s exactly who I found. My recently listened to section was populated with songs from the Music app, which I thought was a nice touch.  For me, the best thing about this app will be not having to get constantly bombarded with anymore pop crap.

    More touches and more polish will follow. For now, I’m loving what I’m seeing/hearing, but this is not a finished product.

  • Apple shows MR headset to executives ahead of rumored June unveiling

    Every time Apple releases a new product, it is met with laughter, doubt, and confusion by the outside world. Now it seems that even Apple’s own fans are having these reactions…about a product that doesn’t even exist yet. It’s almost like the people that should know better, still don’t. 

    So, to all you people that should know better…why not withhold judgment until the device is actually released before dismissing it based solely on rumors? 

    Remember the only reason the iPhone exists is because Jobs was trying to make the iPad.

    Chill out. Everything is going to work out.
