The article states that the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment was dissolved in 1995 as being wasteful.   

That is a fact, but just to add to it a little bit:  The office was killed as part of the Republican Party takeover of the House of Representatives that year after winning a majority in the 1994 midterms.  House Republicans saw the OTA as, "as duplicative, wasteful, and biased against their party. During the 1994 elections, then-Representative Newt Gingrich (R–GA) vowed to kill the office if his party took control of Congress, which it did. I'll stop there, but just wanted to be clear who is to blame for the OTA's disappearance.     As that article states, current House Democrats are trying to bring the office back. 

Okay, I'm an Apple Specialist and you'd be surprised how many people have no passcode on their phones. Then you have the people who use "codes" like 0000 or 1234 to open their phone.  Even more people keep every password under the sun in an unlocked Note file.  

The majority of people do keep their phone and passwords secure (as evidenced but the roughly half of customers who cannot remember their Apple ID password!), but there's a large number who do not.  This person is lucky that all that got ordered were a couple dozen hamburgers.  It really could've been a lot worse. 

People- use a six digit passcode with non-repeating numbers; don't keep your passwords on your phone; and don't use the same password for everything.

Look at the VW ID.4:  It has a wireless charging spot for the phone in the center console and wireless CarPlay.

I've been looking at the Tesla Model Y as my next car (in Spring 2023) but beside Musk's ever more erratic behavior, Tesla has pretty much priced themselves out of contention.   I've had nothing but good things from the VW dealer I've worked with since 2009 and the now five VW's (Jetta and Tiguan) that I've leased from them.  I've also got to drive an ID.4 - while it doesn't go from zero to 60 in three seconds like some Teslas...it was still a really great car to drive.

Confirmed. Thank you for this tip! I just connected the battery to my 2018 iPad Pro, and it updated within 15 minutes or so.

I really should've mentioned that I read about doing that on another site, so the thanks is appreciated, but I won't take all the credit.
