  • USB-C on iPhone is good - but not as an excuse for a bad law

Only one of those is licensed from Apple. All the others are industry standards, and most of them are so old they simply aren't used by anyone these days for personal computing. The only reason that the original iPod used FireWire (IEEE 1394) is because USB 1.0 was not going to have the data speeds or power delivery needed for the iPod.

As for using USB-C on an iPhone because the Mac mini has USB-C, that's a silly argument. I still have secure cameras that use micro-USB-B, which I can use with ease with a USB-A PSU because the cable has different connectors on each end... or do you think that a micro-USB-B connected device from 5 years ago should also use a PSU with micro-USB-B on it so the cable can be reversible end-to-end. If so, I'd like to hear that argument because I've certainly never been confused on which end goes where.

  • Apple Watch battery blowout sends man to emergency room

The odds of 2 apple products exploding for 1 person seems highly unlikely. Would be really interested to see if he was using 3rd party chargers.
I only see one Apple product with a faulty battery mentioned per owner. Also, how would a 3rd-party inductive Watch charger result in a faulty battery? I'm not saying it can't happen, but I'd expect the charging pad to overheat long before the Watch if there was an issue.

  • Rumored Apple Watch Pro could cost $900

Rumored wearable Apple Watch Pro could cost $900

Redundancy is redundant. I think Apple Watch sufficiently implies that it's wearable.

Apple has a strange understanding of “professionals”, apparently.
I think you aren't understanding what a marketing term is for and how it's used. While the Pro moniker may have originally stood for professional that isn't what it has to mean now. Remember the S branding on the iPhone 3GS? That originally stood for speed, according to Apple, but then in 2 years they gave it a different meaning, and then another different meaning.

Even if you have to pick a positive meaning that begins with pro, there's the definition of in favor of or advantage that fits nicely without even looking words that use pro- as prefix.

  • Apple is financing all the lending for the Apple Pay Later service

That’s actually wild. I thought Apple would have a banking partner handling the debt like Goldman Sachs
They are still working with GS in some regard for APL (Apple Pay Later).
