I see what you did there.

“designed and built in the United States.”. I think that most people, even Americans, would consider that wording to mean that a company came up with the design in the USA and that said company then manufactured said device in the USA for sale.

However, I suppose one could say that designing the phone by selecting parts already on the market and then building the phone by having the various parts put together in their final stage in the USA would, technically, qualify.

I mean, if a person ‘designed’ their own prefab house from, say, Sweden, by using a website that lets them pick and choose parts. And then that person arranged for a local builder to put it all together they could claim that they “designed my own house and had it built by a local builder.”

To be fair, a lot of the iPhone is not really custom either. From the displays to usb c ports, much of the device is available to other companies from the same manufacturers.
You're absolutely right. Nothing in the iPhone is original or unique. In fact, every single atom existed long before Apple was a company... and even before actual apples existed. It's all just various combinations of elements. Even the software is just a variation on ones and zeros. Nothing unique there.

Interesting. Reporting indicates it's not actually being done by the Trump organization, but rather they are licensing the name to another MVNO organization. So The Trump organization is not that involved other than licensing the name? We will see what information comes out. Not a fan of this move at all. Can't really trust a trhid party with the kinds of claims being made. Recipe for PR disaster. Nobody wants politicians THIS involved in their daily life, even if it's in name only. Doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on. And that gold color... not good.

on the plus side (I guess), customer service is in the USA (St. Louis).
Also, they are indeed claiming that the phone will be manufactured int he USA. We will see what that actually means.
Building nothing but licensing the name has been the  Trump Organization’s business model for a very long time.

Product specs and imagery are almost certainly the result of a ChatGPT query. This thing is vaporware. The question is, what’s the angle in the grift? Collect $100 deposits from MAGA faithful and never deliver?

The claim this will in any way be Made in the USA makes it impossible for a phone to ever make it into anyone’s hands. The lack of a factory, actual phone prototypes or any verifiable evidence this exists outside of a website means the window for this grift is incredibly short.
I wonder if this Felonious Fone also comes from that shell company in Wyoming.
