  • Apple's design team leadership in flux once again with Jeff Williams retirement

Replace Tim now. He is as old as Jeff.
A product guy would be helpful.

Many people speculate that John Ternus could be the next CEO.

  • Apple COO Jeff Williams retiring later in 2025, replaced by SVP Sabih Khan

Williams was great. sad that he is going. Never heard of Khan. Guess we will see how he works out in the COO role.
During a meeting with Tim Cook in Cupertino, Khan reported an issue in China and Tim Cook sent him him directly to China during the meeting. He flew to China without any suitcases

  • Tim Cook isn't going to get fired, and Steve Jobs isn't rolling over in his grave

Good thing: Tim Cook executed and realized ideas of Steve Jobs very well. Based on interviews with Steve Jobs, he dreamt about devices like "something on your head" (=Vision Pro), "Personal devices" (=Watch, iPhone, Airpods etc.).
    Tim Cook´s execution was successful.

Bad thing:Given the fact that Steve Jobs asked the founder of Siri 35 days in a row to let him buy Siri, Tim Cook completely ignored the crown jewel (=Siri) for over 10 years.

All CEOs can´t have sucess at what they do. Sometimes, failures happen. Mistakes happen.
But Tim Cook is unlucky because the voice assistant Siri, which is the key of Gen AI, is a part of his failures.

Sometimes and unluckily, one failure is enough to put the future of a company as a question mark.

Now, Apple is at a crossroads: Apple will be either 80s/90s IBM or Coke of the 21st Century with strong MOAT.

  • Apple rumored to be in talks with Anthropic and OpenAI about powering new Siri

So... Apple is way behind with their Siri strategy.
Anthropic and Apple do not agree on financial terms. Anthropic wants to get multibillion dollar fees per year. Apple does not want that..

As Apple asked Anthropic or OpenAI to train their data, Apple needs to pay.

Well.....If Apple had invested those money in Siri or their own LLM which they would pay for Anthropic or OpenAI, Apple would have been ready with Siri already.

Poor Tim.. as CEO, he is just a disgusting guy for his Siri failure.

Yeah... Siri reminds me of Apple Map.. First rely on 3rd party. Later, Apple launches their own map.

I hope Apple can do it with Siri.

  • Apple rumored to be in talks with Anthropic and OpenAI about powering new Siri

Crazy that the stock is up on this news, because it officially confirms that Apple ideas way behind.

Is it (as the article says) true, that ChatGPT or Anthropic will run on device, so that they don’t get API data from Apple?

Otherwise, it is no good news for Apple for long term.
