Apple loses three Indian executives as company struggles with iPhone sales
elijahg said:nunzy said:kkapoor said:I have family in India and all of them are iPhone users. However, most middle to upper class Indians have some family in the US or Canada or UK. They are wealthy enough to pay the premium in India for the iPhone but smart enough to just pick it up when they visit their family abroad or ask their family to bring one for them when they visit during the Christmas holidays. A couple of hundred dollars is still a couple of hundred dollars. The Indian mentality about spending money is what Apple really needs to understand. In my view, in order to grow sales in India Apple will have to accept a lower margin on each phone and build loyalty into the population through price. That will pay dividends in the long run. -
Apple's new leather MacBook Sleeve is finely crafted and high quality -- but at a cost
lkrupp said:Don’t like the price, don’t buy it. Bitching about it just makes you look petty and stupid like bitching about the price of a Tesla Model S. If you don’t like the idea of Apple being a premium brand with premium prices then switch platforms. Buy a Dell and a cloth laptop bag like @Ireland suggests and brag to all your friends how much money you saved over buying Apple. It’ll make you feel superior to your bourgeoisie friends who bought the MacBook Pro AND the leather sleeve just because they could.
Guess what? You can buy a Ford or Chevy with more horsepower and performance than, say, a BMW X5. Guess what? I have a couple of family members who own luxury cars and they need servicing just as much as a Chevy Spark or a Ford Taurus, and the servicing costs a lot more too. So you can get a Dell or Lenovo or ASUS laptop with more memory, faster CPU, ports galore for less money? So what? DO IT THEN instead of bitching about Apple’s prices.

The Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro is well implemented, but serves no useful purpose

Well, says you, one person at AI.
Speaking for myself, I think the TouchBar is cute, but meh. -
Here are over 150 new features and changes in iOS 12 for iPhone and iPad

Pretty much everything is a tweak, or a cute little stylistic bell or whistle. This should have been v11.5, not deserving of v12.0. -
Apple to use OLED in all three 2019 iPhone models, report says

I remember, back in the day, when the iPod was big. Every year Apple would introduce an improved model, even thought they had 85% market share in MP3 players. And then they introduced the Shuffle and obtained 85% of the flash MP3 players by the following Friday!
Apple bet a lot on China, to its advantage. It’s now betting in huge way on India.
