  • Apple considering 2025 debut of touchscreen MacBook Pro

I have always thought a touchscreen to be a great additional feature. I would assume it would come with an on/off toggle in the control panel and so would be a non issue for those who find it annoying. When I first got my MBP with the touch bar muy fingers always went up to the screen bring something into focus or move it out of the way. I can think of one scenario where a touch screen would be great - airplanes. If you have ever tried to do work in a cramped environment with the laptop on your lap even the trackpad can be a pain. I see it as a three level input formation - touch screen for basic interaction, track pad for general use, and mouse for detailed and speedier control. None negate the others tho I am definitely a mouse person. My daughters are both trackpad or touch users exclusively.

  • Apple adds Mac desktops & Studio Display to Self Repair Program

The right to repair crowd won’t be satisfied until Apple creates a way (market) to sell parts from stolen Apple devices.
Oooh. Debbie downer, much? I am glad this is happening and hope Apple will design their devices more openly, for lack of a better word, going forwards. Two items should be user changeable - ram & hd. I understand the drive to commoditize computers, but I am not sure people choose to buy a new Mac because of lack of ram or too little storage. I think most people just struggle on cursing their lackluster equipment.

  • FDA approves iPhone connectible Dexcom G7 glucose monitor

I am a broken record on this subject. CGM's are very expensive but are covered by insurance for the lucky ones. Self financing is prohibitive for most people. Additionally CGM manufacturers greatly limit what end users can and cannot do with the devices making hacked solutions difficult. My plan (feel free to contact me for more brilliant advice, Apple  ), is that Apple disrupt this market by buying one of the CGM companies, or manufacturing their own CGM's and then sell CGM's at cost so that virtually everyone can afford them. Apple should optionally bypass the iPhone and feed CGM data directly to the AW for live glucose readings. For deeper analysis and stats an iPhone or iPad would be required where it could all be integrated with Apple Health. There are approx 40 million Type 2 diabetics in the US alone, and god knows how many world wide. If CGM's were sold at cost (super cheap), all one would need is an AW and iPhone. Hell, instead of insurance companies financing CGM's for people they could finance AWs and iPhones. Sounds like a win win all-around, to me :)

I guess it's too late for marriage counselling, then.

  • Rewind app wants your Mac to record every moment of your life

I think I'll pass. One of life's joys is selective memory, the ability to choose to forget and trying to remember thing's forgotten. Nothing worse when you are I a conversation and briefly hesitate on naming an actor, a movie, a year, a whatever, and everybody immediately reach for their phones.

From a surveillance perspective however, I imagine the app has great potential.
