  • M1X MacBook Pro and more: What to expect from Apple's 'Unleashed' event on Monday

I predict that Apple will not announce a new car next week.

You can quote me on that.

  • 'Foundation' is beautiful, lavish, and boring say reviews

“Edit: as to the British accent thing: I thought this was initially begun as a Skydance production both in Malta and London.”

Nope. Ireland, Malta, Iceland, Germany, and the Canary Islands, but never London. At least, not that anyone’s reported.

  • 'Foundation' is beautiful, lavish, and boring say reviews

Interested to watch but the truth is the books are not ACTION books. Many readers would say they are boring' or meditative ETC. The action is often in the politics. So I'll watch and I'll be interested to see how they turned it into a TV show.
Television has never been known for intelligent storytelling.

I guess one gratuitous on-screen murder wasn’t enough for the critics. I’m still undecided about the series, but whatever reservations I have will probably be the opposite of the teevee critics’.

  • EU proposing USB-C smartphone charger standard

There is a lot to like and once read, most people should be able to get their heads around why we reached this point.
It’s ego. Politicians and bureaucrats think that they know more about medicine than doctors, more about engineering than engineers, more about business than businessmen… more about everything than everyone.

And we have a “public school system” owned by the government, run by the government, and staffed by government employees. Critical thinking is discouraged. Students are taught to believe that government employees always know best. If a government fact sheet tells you that everyone should have USB-C chargers, then everyone should have USB-C chargers, because Big Brother knows best…

  • iPhone 13 A15 benchmarks reveal 21% CPU speed gain over iPhone 12

However worth noting is that there has been significant press stating that the A15 would only be a mild bump, and that Apple has "hit a performance wall" - This is interesting because it's not just wrong, but appears to be a wide effort at astroturfing.
Is it astroturf, or just crabgrass?
