  • Is Apple about to announce a 'Broadcast' App?

    Ugh.

Developers:  THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT RELEASE ON THE APPLE APP STORE - or at the very least not exclusively there.

Get a website, they're cheap.  Collect money with something like Square or PayPal, they're expensive at 2.7-ish % but nowhere close to Apple's 30% highway robbery.

And people like me who WILL NOT support Apple's extortion and DRM might buy your app instead of looking for alternatives that we don't have to install through that stupid app store.
Luckily enough people like me who use the App store exclusively outnumber people like you.

  • The BBC is advising staff to remove TikTok from work phones

It's about damned time this BS, brain-rotting app be banned from ALL Western countries!

Remember, mainland China gets a version of TikTok that is motivational, uplifting, educational, and inspiring to ITS people, and the rest of the world gets the version that is DESIGNED to DAMAGE the psyche of the youth and young adults using it, this is now proven as FACT.

So the same reason to delete youtube, twitter and facebook because they are based in the united states, got ite, I’ll get right on that.

  • Even Foxconn says it's looking to move away from China

Here is where I am bamboozled:  Why is manufacturing NOT in North America (America/Canada) - it should be law.  There goes all the talk about human rights - the hypocrisy is on another level...

What makes the US and Canada better than China? We are all humans and we all share a planet... a globe ... and the tech industry is now a global effort.

The quotes in the article explain why it's more cost-effective to have large-scale manufacturing and assembly in China and other lower-GDP countries. Trust me, I wish North America was up to the task, but our workforce is way, way, way too expensive (and lazy)!
Well… Canada is fast losing its appeal thanks to its prone minister becoming Stalin.

So I’ll speak for the USA.

The difference is in how we treat people and the freedoms we have, which carry into all aspects of life, politics, and business.

    It’s pretty simple math.

Freedom to do what exactly? And do you extend these same freedoms to the countries you erm bring freedom to?

And no, ownership of ursan appendages does not count as a freedom.

  • 2022 iPad Pro M2 review: Six months later, powerful and still stale

At this point, and for quite a while now, upgrades to the iPad processor are like dropping a Lamborghini V12 engine into a Toyota Corolla--you can brag about the amount of horspower you have, but you can't put it to use. iPad continues to be hobbled by iPad OS, which is how Apple wants to keep it. Cupertino has never wanted the iPad to be a laptop replacement because it wants to sell us a laptop AND an iPad. Here we are, 13 years after iPad was introduced and its system for multitasking remains a kludge.
And yet if i were gonna pay money today i wouldn’t say give me the m1 version instead of the m2. Y’all like to complain it seems.
