Sounds like an ill-timed, but productive visit. Certain elements in the Legislature and right wing media are sure to make hay out of it. But if you ask me, good business ties with China are super important, even in the face of recent geopolitical events. China will to be less inclined to damage their best customer.
Lol. Do you think Russia is less inclined to damage us after we
    — gave them Ukraine’s nukes
    — gave them the USSR spot on the security council
    — shut down our own rocket engine manufacturing and made our rockets dependent on their engines
    — made them key partners in the ISS
    — let them genocide Chechnya
    — let them conquer Georgia and Moldova and Crimea
    — gave them Big Macs and iPhones

Of course not. Dictators can’t stop themselves from attacking us. We need to be ready. Apple is making us dependent rather than ready.
Name 1 dictator who attacked you.

  • TikTok has a plan to avoid getting banned in the US

Tik tok is a spy tool for China. Period. Just because gullible users agree to it doesn’t make it ok.

If the current admin had any backbone, this would be done a while ago.
Just like Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, etc are spy tools for the US. What’s the problem again?

Here is where I am bamboozled:  Why is manufacturing NOT in North America (America/Canada) - it should be law.  There goes all the talk about human rights - the hypocrisy is on another level...

What makes the US and Canada better than China? We are all humans and we all share a planet... a globe ... and the tech industry is now a global effort.

The quotes in the article explain why it's more cost-effective to have large-scale manufacturing and assembly in China and other lower-GDP countries. Trust me, I wish North America was up to the task, but our workforce is way, way, way too expensive (and lazy)!
Well… Canada is fast losing its appeal thanks to its prone minister becoming Stalin.

So I’ll speak for the USA.

The difference is in how we treat people and the freedoms we have, which carry into all aspects of life, politics, and business.

    It’s pretty simple math.

Freedom to do what exactly? And do you extend these same freedoms to the countries you erm bring freedom to?

And no, ownership of ursan appendages does not count as a freedom.

I have a feeling that Apple will introduce an M-Series Mac Pro, but keep the Intel version around.
Apple historically doesn’t really do the hang on to the past thing.

Also consider that getting rid of Intel would vastly simplify software development efforts.

Is there no MDM used for government devices? Why do people need to be asked to remove it?
Yes. Most MDMs don’t allow end-user installation of apps but that only works when people are forced to use it. Of course I bet most government users have two phones. Problem is too many use private phone for doing government business even though that’s illegal.
But when the President does it it’s not illegal.
