  • Apple working on hardware subscription service for iPhone, other products

The biggest advantage would be carrier independence. Right now I am tied into my carrier and if I switch I have to pay the phone off right away. If I was renting the phone from Apple, I could switch at anytime as they don’t care which carrier I use. This a big win for customers. Second is that leasing a phone should be a lot cheaper than buying it as I never get to own the device (car lease payment vs buying a car payment).

  • Apple's M2 chip - what to expect from the next Apple Silicon evolution

If this was said about Intel instead of Apple there would be howls of mockery here:

“Rumors have said that the M2 will have a slightly higher clock speed on its cores, though not a dramatic uptick.

Apple's M1 is already a capable CPU, so a marginal speed increase isn't surprising.

Despite the meager CPU improvements, Apple looks to be beefing up the graphics. The new M2 will likely move from the currently-available seven or eight cores to a nine-core GPU with a ten-core option.”

If true then one generation in and they are essentially where they were with Intel plus AMD for better graphics. Incremental updates each year presented as an “amazing new graphics chip” giving the minimum they can get away with to keep updates ticking. Hopefully the rumors are wrong and M2 blows off the doors in every way.

  • Apple execs explain the design philosophy behind Apple Watch bands

Oh please. You can buy perfectly good alternatives on Amazon for a fraction of the price. That magically work across all models. The shoelaces were a joke but you have your heads so far up where the sun don’t shine you can’t see it. Though the TSLA whistle makes me wonder if someone like Elon couldn’t pull it off!

  • Apple execs explain the design philosophy behind Apple Watch bands

I am just working on finding out design philosophy of my shoe laces. I know they are special as I discarded original once and they have special construction and shape to help with loosening tie when walking and doing footwork (seriously you can buy them on Amazon). But I still wonder philosophy that one can make for them...
And the amazing thing about shoelaces is the they are forward and backwards compatible! And it didn’t take a 2T dollar company to come up with it. But between Apple and TSLA they will no doubt release a shoelace that cost $19.99 hyping the comparability and design.

  • AirPods are no longer cool, claim people who can't afford them

AirPods are cool insist people who found they spent $175 for AirPods that sound like $20 headphones and are ashamed and outraged to have just found out that they are no longer cool and wasted $155! I have a pair of JHA Roxanne’s IEM’s and no Bluetooth one size fits all is ever going to provide the same comfort and sound quality. It all depends on where you are in life, how much you have to spend and what you like. Class warfare comes to Appleinsider …
