I don't add "in my opinion" to everything I say because everything I say is my opinion. I'm not wasting keystrokes on clarifying to pedants what they should already be able to discern.

Stage Manager for iPadOS 16 limited to M1 over memory, storage speed requirements
This was interesting: https://web.archive.org/web/20220609000257/https://techreflect.net/2022/06/08/rising-from-the-ashes-stage-manager/
Also interesting that it got removed. -
UK won't copy EU USB-C common charger mandate
mfryd said:The new EU rule only applies to phones that used wired charging. It does not apply to phones that only use wireless charging (such as Apple's MagSafe). If Apple used software to disable charging on the lightning port, that would make the iPhone 13 compliant with the new USB-C rule. -
WWDC 2022 keynote was a showcase of Apple innovation, Katy Huberty says
Thought it was a bit dull myself, nothing very surprising, the expected things were as expected and the things that even qualify as surprising (e.g. CarPlay 2) weren't very interesting. iOS 16 and macOS Ventura barely even qualify as updates for me there's so little of use there.
Everything seems to have stagnated a bit while rumours about realityOS and cars are setting ridiculous expectations. -
iPhone & AirPods will require USB-C for charging in the EU by late 2024
ITGUYINSD said:This is good in that it will accelerate the development of even better (i.e., faster and more power) USB-C chargers and cables. As it is now, PD charging standard goes to 100W. Some more powerful laptops need 130W or even 230W and require a proprietary USB-C charger as the PD standard does not go that high.
This might spur the ratification of better PD charging limits and over time, prices will come down as supply increases.
I see it as a win-win. -
