  • Logitech's new stylus for Oculus is what we want for Apple Vision Pro

A better question is why do we need a stylus? You know that AVP can look at your hands and a stylus you're holding can be treated as a stylus and do EVERYTHING shown in the commercial? Why do we need a stylus specifically for a headset?

Some people never want to live in the real world!
As they said with newspapers, radio, TV, computers, smartphones... 🙄

LOL not "EVERYTHING". It has a pressure sensitive tip, three buttons including one that's pressure sensitive, and far more accuracy than your finger detection is going to give you. Ridiculous.
We don't need a stylus to do those things in the "air." Gestures are much better for that kind of productivity and a headset should be able to recognize objects in hands and emulate those objects. For example, if you hold up a paintbrush, it should recognize it as a paintbrush and emulate it. It would actually feel more real and more accurate as the tip of the paintbrush can change its size or shape which a stylus cannot. A stylus's tip is fixed.

It's comical that the commercial begins with actual objects but ends with a "stylus" that supposedly do all that when a headset can just recognize an object and emulate it.
You weren't watching the video very closely. They were also using it to trace 3D objects and flat surfaces. Pressure sensitive controls *in the air* control things like pressure which you cannot do with gestures in the same way easily. Do you know what an airbrush is, and how it differs from a paintbrush? I suspect you're not an artist, or you wouldn't have this much trouble imagining the obvious use cases for this device.

  • Apple Intelligence impresses now, and it's still very early

I am nowhere as enthralled or optimistic as many of the rest of you are. I looked down my notes from the WWDC presentation and under the AI features what did I have?

An improved Siri might be nice. To be honest though, right now it does what I want it to. It answers my questions. Transcription is actually quite good and I use it often. I don’t see how AI could make Siri more useful. I do see though the distinct possibility that it might make it less so. I will be watching this.
Well, for one you could have Apple Intelligence summarize the keynote for you, because you sure aren't good at taking notes if you missed all the useful enhancements coming to Siri that were outlined.

Lastly, we come to ChatGPT. What is the best way to put this? Hard no. F* no. Absolutely not. I don’t want the option to approve each query or not.
You can turn it off, in fact I think it may be off by default. Calm down.

  • Final Cut Pro updates for iPad and Mac are now available

However, Apple does not appear to have added the much-wanted ability to move a Final Cut Pro project back and forth between the Mac and the iPad at will.

This is the one feature that would get me on board with the iPad version. I pretty much always have my MBP with me, but if I'm needing to cut an interview, it'd be great to just take my iPad alone somewhere and slice away.
