  • What to expect from the 'iPhone Fold'

I suspect folding phones are a fad. I suspect the next revolution is your iPhone connected with a pair of AR glasses that look just like regular glasses obviously with AR built in.  With Gesture control.

  • EU pressing on with USB-C charger legislation on Thursday

Best Case: They go with USB-C and by the time it takes effect, Apple has already moved everything to USB-C
Worst Case: They go with some weird local plug standard that is only made and used in Slovakia or some such place and the rest of the world is completely f-ed.
    Let’s see what they do.
By the time the EU implements this “standard” Apple will have moved to will have moved to a wireless port less phone. That utilizes usb-c as the standard adapter plug.  EU can pass a law that says all charging PORTs need to be universal and start with USB-C. But it can’t take Apple to task if they decide to ditch the port all together and go wireless.   I think this doesn’t hinder future technology. It just gives the commission more power to choose the roadmap for future technology adoption.  If EU implements this and Apple moves wireless, then I bet Samsung and others will follow Apple to get around the port issue.

  • Spotify, Tile, and Match Group call Apple anticompetitive at Senate hearing

Personally, I think the issue is that companies like Spotify and Match Group don’t want to pay apples 15-30% fee.

As other people mentioned, It this was un biased, why isn’t there anything in here about these companies and there complaints about android?

This would be great, provided it could transmit data as well as power.
Why would it need to transmit data? You would be freeing up a USB C/Thunderbolt port so essentially you would have more I/O than currently.

the whole point of this article is that Apple is considering replacing the lightning port with a version of old
    school mag safe.

  • Portless 'iPhone 13' could restore iOS without needing a cable

These all just rumors!  Apple will not kill the lightning port just one year after re-introducing MagSafe. I am pretty sure the adoption rate isn’t high enough. As for ports. I think Apple will switch the lightning port for either a smart connector or allow the mag safe to handle both power and data.

In the past when Apple killed the 3.5 millimeter jack and other things, they provided a bridge of sorts for the interim. This would be no different! I’m sure
