[quote] Let's face it the only one who can post reliable insider information is no other than K-Man himself! He is a god around here; a real Kormacian.
So philSnot, and Mr. I got the dude wasted JYD - go blow dead goats.

If you think of Kormac as a God, then you have my condolences. You obviously have very low expectations of your Gods.
My, aren't you bitchy today? There's no reason to be an ass, if you think Kormac is a real insider then just convince me. If you can't do it rationally then STFU.
1 GHz for those with too much money in their pockets and merely 800 MHz for the rest of us. And even better: no L3 cache in the low-end configuration and NO APOLLO, i.e. no increased performance per clock.
This thing is slow like a sub $600 PC (yes, except for Photoshop) and twice as expensive. Well done, reality-distortion-field G5(tm), this is insanely great.

An 800 MHz G4 is not as slow as a sub $600 PC under any circumstance. Jesus, some people actually are fooled by the megahertz myth. Think of it as a clock. The G4 does more per tick than a shitty Pentium 3 800 Mhz PC, with no expandability.
The Powermacs are now priced very reasonably and have good specs (not great).

shut the **** up. the people here are not idiots. apparantly you are. lay off the steve jobs crack pipe and get a ****ing clue. it's getting so tired
I think, since Apple just bumped the PowerMac line, G5's next week are pretty unlikely. Hmmm... unless you're reading this during the last week in March.

I hate to say this, but maybe you're right
From what I've heard, the new G4 would be released and G5 would be announced soon after (like the next day) for the pro 3D users. This G5 thing has dragged on for a couple of weeks now and i'm starting to doubt myself.
To my knowledge, the G5 is ready to roll, so I must assume something else is holding up the release.
Maybe it's the case? <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

I don't know what your talking about, but Kormac has never known anything, and has been shitting into your collective mouths for two years now.

The Profanity!!
We are all Mac users, right?
Just checking, thought I'd wandered onto a "PCs Rulez" forum for minute.

I wait for G5s in 2003 (not really).

You're not too far off the mark with G5. G5 is *not* going to appear in Apple machines before 2003. I'd be willing to bet on it.

You seem a little bitter, applenut. Do you wanna talk about it?
I for one am holding out for something better.
