Yeah... Me too. But I was also creating "real networks" using 1 MBS twisted pair Corvus Omninet -- even sold 7 of these to Apple Headquarters.
Also the likes of IBM, Fairchild Schlumberger, Stanford, U.S. Army Ft. Leavenworth, BullWinkle's, Marriott's Great America, EMI Thorne, Piper Jaffray, Lots of schools and colleges, Marin county.....
Yes, we wired the Frank LLoyd Wright Marin County building for a LAN.... really hard because it is built around a central atrium and we couldn't string wire through walls nor have it visible to the naked eye.
Now, shhh -- enough of this or we'll wake @melgross (who also has lots of experience) then we'll be into it.
Sure, but at one time, there were more computers connected by Apple talk than all other computers put together.
It was great back on those days. A really simple network. It worked pretty well. Must faster than serial. Ethernet killed it.
By their own admission, Samsung went back to the drawing board when the iPad 2 was announced and demonstrated -- to make it lighter, thinner and more like the iPad 2. From what I have read, Sammy went as far as to copy Apple's iPad 2 packaging...
Also, consider someone, say, Grandma who is not tech-knowledgable and is buying a gift for the grandkid.
You'd be surprised.
At IBM we'd get calls from people who had a Burroughs IBM Computer.
Later in the computer stores we'd be asked of fix or sell software/accessories for someones' Atari or Commodore Apple Computer...
Never got confused with a Kentucky Fried Computer (later NorthStar) though,
Well sorry Mel but with all due respect this is a british matter and this is the british way, and so it's in entirely good taste.
Some recent guardian cartoons:
Oh and this from the Telegraph
When stuff can be gently mocked in our quality national newspapers, I think flip comments on a technology forum should be classed as entirely reasonable.
As I pointed out though, this isn't a British site, but an American one. You know the old expression; When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
While I'll admit that some Americans are willing to engage it that humor, generally, we don't find it humorous, even if it happens here. There are a number of sites that would have just removed all posts relating to it. I'm just asking, respectfully, that we don't pursue it.
I did too! We sold quite a few -- great Floppy drives , Walnut case, good price and some great Word Processors -- My fav WP app was MoonShadow. It was written by a local by the name of Jim Merritt.
Not in the matters specified in the community design. You are looking at the wrong things, you are looking at the big screen that dominates the design, but that's functional - what matters here is everything else. The shape of the top corners is radically different, in fact one can argue that there are no top corners at all as the front surface is bent round to form part of the back smoothly. The back is radically asymmetric. It doesn't infringe, it doesn't even come close.

Okay... so what you are trying to tell us is that you don't have any hard evidence to prove otherwise.
All he had to do was disprove the so called "facts" about the 30-40% return rate, of which he accomplished to be false and libel generated by Apple fanboys.
Something I'm surprised no one has mentioned: this is escalating the patent wars to a whole new level so could we to see one of Apple's competitors doing the same to Apple?
Apple is fighting plenty of patent battles with other companies. For example, Motorola presumably could ask the German court to ban iPhone sales in Europe as part of their suit over 3G, GPRS, 802.11 wireless and antenna design patents.
But that's not the standard of proof for infringement, I was wondering when you'd show up though, you managed to go 140 posts in a samsung thread without doing so. Is that a record?

A patent troll is a patent troll and doesnt matter how big or small you are. Apple has obviously now become a patent troll.
You don't seem to know what a patent troll is either. Look that one up yourself.
Yeah Lodsys used the same argument...
Follow the case, because, actually, they didn't. It appears to be an entity specifically formed for the purpose of these lawsuits.
Among rational people the burden of proof is on the plaintiff.
A single unnamed source says you worship Satan.
That's a really silly post. Can you reply more responsibly?
You didn't get it. He was referring to the guy buying a Galaxy thinking it was an iPad and returning it because it didn't work with the App Store.
I got it, but my response is the same. I see this stuff all the time about Apple.

I LIKED Northstar.
The Grand Canyon was just a gully when I was born.
Or a long low hill.

Damn, I knew we should spoken softer!
Just think, all that hassle has been replaced by a < $100 router and a < $10 chip in each device.
As to the "Trade Dress"....
Judge to Samsung: If you copy the look and feel, packaging, etc. -- you may get sued...
Is like the TV commercial that says: "Users of Cialis may experience delayed back pain...
The answer: Yeah... Your point is?
In which case how long before all non Apple tablets are banned in Europe as they all follow the same basic design?
We've been through this again and again.
It's entirely possible to produce a design that doesn't infringe. This one from Sony is definitely not infringing.

That still looks similar.
That still looks similar.

I'm good thanks so maybe you should look it up yourself...

Use enough commas? lol You have no idea what I have read about this case.
