Not a fair comparison anyway. It’s apples and oranges. The New iPhone (5? 6?) should be compared to the 2013 Galaxy S IV Vision2Evolution. Which hasn’t been announced yet, but THAT is the phone that will attempt to clone the New iPhone. It’s just not fair to compare to a Samsung phone that’s still trying to be an iPhone 4.
Interesting that you say 'clone' considering how much iOs6 is 'cloning' from Android. Hell, iOS5 cloned notification center, or at least the 'look and feel' of it.

Throwing stones in a glass house isn't a good idea. By the way, I own an iP4 and amtyping this on my iPad2. Notice the missing letters in a lot of my words? That is the issue I have with the iDevice keyboard, not to mention Apple predictive word algorith sucks big donkey di....

I don't drink the kool-aid, but I do buy some Apple products that Ifeel are superior to the competition. But the iPhone ain't one of them.

The reason I personally don't like Samsung COMPLETED PRODUCTS is that, based on my experience, they seem to specialise in planned obsolescence, with almost none of the many products I've bought from them lasting more than a few years.

You could say the same thing regarding the iPad 1 though as iOS6 is not supported on it and it was only released a couple years ago. Personally the only completed products I would buy from Samsung are their monitors, I just bought one of the business grade monitors for my desk at work and it's quite nice,

I got given a Plasma when I bought this house, so far it's good, it's only a 42" so use it in the spare room.

Do the smallest amount of research and you'll discover that Korea and racism are two very frequently combined words. After living there for a year, and observing individuals buying non-Korean goods getting audited for doing so (among many, many other unusual things) you can't help but be given pause.

Quite frankly, Fredaroony, this is one of the more ridiculous statements that you seem to like to repeat frequently. Business is so intertwined internationally these days that if anybody was to follow this principal then nothing would be purchased. But don't worry. Samsung has worked hard at given themselves a reputation for stabbing their own customers in the back. I'm sure Apple and many other companies have taken note, and are taking steps to do exactly as you said.

This site doesn't work like that at all, as can be proven by your decision to continue hanging around like a bad smell despite this claimed 'injustice'.

We rarely see you posting positively about stuff (even from the rival companies) and generally just see you having your little outbursts over Apple.

And no intelligent individual would fall for your secondary troll bait of actually devoting time to collect fact or figures in an attempt to convince you of anything. You'll never be convinced, regardless of what argument is put forward, so don't expect us to waste time on you.

When will you be getting a life, and go and do something positive with your own?

    neolos,

well said. I have the same experience as you. Every time I have to use a new version of Windows, the first thing I do is figure out how to reconfigure the UI back into "Classic" mode aka Windows 2000.  Until that happens, I feel completely disoriented and its completely unusable.   The New UI is no better in most cases. Just change for the sake of change and not well thought out.

I have seen iOS is "stale" arguments before.  They say,  switch to the Windows Phone UI, or redesigned Android 3.x UI, no I mean 4.0, no I mean 5.0, give it a try.  Same with Windows.. try to new XP UI.  Its much better, no I mean Vista UI, no I mean 7 UI, no I mean 8.  Really, its completely redesigned and gonna be better this time.  we promise, its very very cool and will blow your mind.

I have to laugh each time.  No thanks. I like what I have now with OS X and iOS.  They are both well designed from the start.  Tweaks and merging proven UI together are welcome. No need to redesign. If you are redesigning the UI often it says a lot about the designers and architects who created the UI in the first place.

I love how aggressive and confident he is.  And,  I'm glad Apple has him in its corner.  My respect for Foxconn has grown over the years as I've followed Apple and as I've seen the importance of strategic manufacturing relationships

The upcoming iTV and the Sharp relationship are going to bring a world of hurt to Samsung

Let me just add, off topic, how fuckin* ugly I think the Galaxy S III is.  Just for the record

This guy is known for making false statements. He is totally pro-Japanese and anti-Korea. Even though I am Apple fanboy, I don't believe everything he says.

So, given your strong views on user interface and user interaction design, please give us the top five ways you might fix the UI of iOS 7 without alienating and confusing Apple's long-time users.

Change in UI can increase functionality in iOS. Let's take an example. Currently in iOS to check weather a user can either hold down the home button & ask siri or pull down notification center from home screen or go to the weather app from home screen. Now because Windows Phone supports 'live tiles' so in that UI, user only needs to go to home screen to check the live weather. Android also gives the similar functionality via their live widgets.

It's clear that iOS's static icons UI does not help much in such cases. Especially with rumors of larger screen iPhone, they could have changed the UI by using that extra space but they didn't. In WWDC '12, it was really embarrassing when Forstall mentioned features like Facebook integration, Mail VIP folder & Phone 'reply with message' as one of the major features of iOS 6. Last year it was notification center, twitter integration etc. It felt like they were trying to catch up with Android. Come on! With WP8 to come, they really need to make significant changes in UI of iOS. The current UI feels dated. In modern age of smartphone users, not many users are going to get confused with changes in UI. Yes it could take some time to get used to it but it will be beneficial to the end user.

And WP8 to come, I hope Apple make some substantial changes in UI of iOS 7.

True... Android has a lot of features and customization.

So this is only meant as a silly observation. I'm not trying to start a war ;-)

I saw someone else post that side by side image of a screen a few days, but I wasn't clear then on what it was supposed to evidence of and I'm still not. No doubt I'm missing something so could you point it out?

Seems bigoted to me. He doesn't qualify his statement to include the word "companies" or say "with people I've worked with from..." His comment seems to refer to all the people from those countries.

PS: When did it become acceptable to call bigotry against people of another country racism?

the more reason to make it even bigger, don't you think? To show the world!   So one can pull it out of one's pants, grunting manly noises as you do so, holding it proudly such that everyone across the room knows that how big and beautiful it is. Ohhh.. pretty.  I bet you don't even bother going to watch moves at the theater any more with a screen that big..   Ahhh..   Yours is so much bigger then mine... I want want want want it. No... I NEED IT.

Samsung = No OS. Apple, Google, MS = OS.

Samsung has been, is, and will always be a component manufacturer. Too bad Koreans simply don't know how to do OS. Even though Sammy is working hard to have their own OS, like Tizen, it is bound to fail miserably. oh well, at least Sammy is making money right now and they should be happy about it.

When 'different race' came to mean 'anyone who isn't you', though I can't tell you when that happened.

That's quite some horse-shit you're spouting. iOS6 a 'year behind'? What competition? What the hell does tightly packed mean? God know what happens when Google will unveil jellybean? I know, it will take a year for it to get 10% marketshare of Android devices. Apple should be worried about Jellybean, why exactly? ICS has done nothing to stunt iPhone, nor will jellybean. As for WP8, it's wait an see at this point, as anything would be better than the absolutely dismal performance of WP7. You're insane.
