""Google has been extremely innovative this year with Google Glass, investments in artificial intelligence and a range of partnerships," said Benoit Tranzer, regional managing director of Millward Brown Europe.."
How is investments in artificial intelligence and a range of partnerships "innovative"?

I'll take reports that Google's innovation etc. make them the top brand (anywhere) more seriously when Google actually produces useful products that people buy instead of developing new ways to pry into our lives in new and intrusive ways and using smoke and mirrors to debut future products as if they already exist.

Please name one successful product that Google has created.  Search, bought it.  Android Bought it.  Maps, bought it.  Everything they have done themselves has either be impractical and will never be commercially viable, or it has flopped in a major way.

Teeth have been properly gnashed. image But lets be honest, if Apple topped this list we'd all be crowing about it.

I have never heard of this list and give it no credit. We can talk when this year's Interbrand report comes out. ;)

Blah blah blah. If your going to reference surveys, you better post the links.

Since you asked. The first link is to an article in the Independent, but it was also reported in the Telegraph.

The emperors need a new shiny object to make them more gold. When they tire of this shiny object & it has served it's purpose they will pick another. The game is rigged.

Apple's research facility is more secretive than Google's. How could they ever beat them in this ranking? Nonetheless, research projects are not innovations.

Your concern trolling is getting so fucking old. There was a report about a week ago about how Apple is still the most valuable brand in the world by far, and has actually gone up in brand value the past year compare to other companies. You think these actually mean anything? You think Apple should release shit simply to "keep themselves in the news "? Thank god you have nothing to do with running the company, cause that's a shit mentality.

When did I say Apple should release "shit" to keep themselves in the news? So if Apple has product announcements spread throughout the year that equates to the products being shit? The first 3 generations of iPad were announced in calendar Q1. Were those products shit? I see no reason why Apple can't have compelling product launches in the first and second half of the year. It's not as if the Christmas season is the only time people buy stuff.

And honestly I couldn't give a shit less if you want to label me a concern troll. I don't like seeing Samsung top Apple in a smartphone satisfaction survey - the first time Apple hasn't been #1. I don't like seeing Apple retail fall out of the top 10 in a survey they ranked #1 in just a year prior. We all know how much Tim Cook loves his customer sat stats.

If me wanting to see Apple in the news for a change (instead of pretty much every one of their competitors) makes me a concern troll then I gladly wear that title.

Why is the word 'innovative" being thrown around for this brand value ranking? This is a popularity contest. Apple usually wins but innovation has nothing to do with particular list.

And why is the "I" word be applied to Google beta programs like Glass and fiber? If it's all about quantity over quality than shouldn't Samsung be #1 here?

It is becoming interesting and more interesting.  Google is most valuable that it can sell a glass that costs $75-$150 to make for $1500.  Yet all the Apple copycat companies in the world including Samsung dare not to make a cheaper knockoffs.  Why?   The reason is interesting.  Google is a tyrant  internet content provider.  Google will simply refuse to deliver content to any copycat glass wear.  The world has changed a lot.  I am afraid no one in Apple is able to deal with this changing metaphor.  Jobs is the only one that has complete knowledge and innovation of the high tech era.  It is really sad he left us so early.

That's a sure sign of a leaderless company that has no clear vision, nor a clear path to the future, and tries to "baffle them with bullshit". The thing is.....Apple doesn't "do bullshit". Plain and simple. End of story. That philosophy has worked exceedingly well to date, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. There are dozens of "market reports" published by dubious companies who are willing to sell their soul to the Google and Samsung types that are more than willing to shower any company with copious amounts of dollars, in return for high marks, phoney or otherwise.

Maybe it's just a case of others recognizing Google Glass for being the crap it is.

Where, in that statement you quoted did I suggest Apple introduce crap or pie in the sky products? Apple used to announce the iPad in Q1 and the iPhone in the summer. Then Cook decided 90% of their products would be announced in September and October. Why? The Christmas holiday isn't the only time people buy products. Where is the updated Apple TV? Or new Mac Mini? When do we see new iPods? None of those things were updated last year. I dont see what's so great about updating basically your entire product line in the span of 2 months.

Oh, noes!  Apple is doomed.  Darn those Google Glasses.  The Glassholes have voted  Google to the #1 spot.  I guess it's time to start the "Fire Tim Cook!" rants again.  How come Apple doesn't have any special future projects like Google does?  Where's Apple's Time Travel device or faster-than-light spacecraft.  C'mon Tim, Wall Street will even settle for a portable quantum flux generator.  I guess this second place spot shows all innovation at Apple is a thing of the past.

Innovation = inventing stuff that has no immediate commercial value such as drone delivery vehicles, self driving cars, and douchebag glasses.

Invent crazy stuff no one wants = brilliance.

    Ok got it.
