Maybe not, and maybe I don't know exactly what 'doubling down' literally means, but what I do know is that secrecy is less now than before and it's chipping away at Apple's surprise factor. I think we can both agree on that.

How many more iPhones did Apple sell in their 1st* fiscal quarter of 2014? How many did they sell in their 4th* fiscal quarter of 2008? What is the difference in unit sales? Do you think if allocating twice as money for security and secrecy would make everything twice as secure despite what it takes to create and move that many more units? It's like having a treadmill belt moving at 50x the speed and you doubling your pace. You're not going to keep up with a 2x increase.

    * I'm using different quarters because the first full quarter of iPhone sales were different back then.
BTW. I do appreciate you sticking to the subject matter, and avoiding the childish name-calling :)

Is that sarcastic? Is that directed at me? I honestly can't tell even though you did include an emoticon.

I don't think I can agree with that, the job of security personnel is just that. I find these excuses to be lame, the amount of info and physical product parts and finished products that made it to the public is astounding. You and I are going in circles, we just have to agree to disagree.

    I wasn't being sarcastic.

Apparently not well enough. This upcoming launch seems like an open door to the factory, Apple might as well save the money if this is what they're now considers secrecy.
Bull. You don't know anything. You've seen a potential working prototype of the 4.7" iPhone 6 two days before it's unveiling. Maybe a 5.5" casing. And some components which happens with every release months before it's released. That's ALL you've seen this whole year. You can't name anything else.

Either way, the element of surprise is gone.

I can't remember an Apple event that wasn't surprising. Most recenly WWDC with Swift, among many other things.

Even with the leaked iPhone 4 we heard rumours about Apple adding an unbelievae 4x more pixels before the debice was lost at a bar.

Yeah, no it isn’t. Just stop posting until next week.

I, like many others, work in a secure facility. The facility where the iPhones are manufactured is over 100x more secure than any facility I've worked at. The employees work and live on camp. Things can be closely monitored such as internet access, no camera laws, security check-points where valuable information might be leaked (like monitors that display schematics), and much more. These leaks have been going on for weeks if not months, from cables, to screens, body pieces, emblems, buttons, cameras, and multiple working devices.

I refuse to fool myself and pretend that Apple is doing the best it can to secure it's 'surprise factor' because it's not. It has done a much better job in the past. But the iPhone 5, 5S, and now 6 are open-door leaks.

I'm no Apple security expert, but if I managed a team with this level of incompetency, they will have to either shape-up or ship-out. Because at this point there's a lot less of a surprise factor left for tomorrow's major event.

Have fun controlling that team of probably half a million people that come into contact with one piece of the iPhone puzzle or the other.

    10 HOURS - 03 MINUTES -> Apple 3.0

Are you telling me the MacPro wasnt risky?

Or what about the iWatch? Can you at least wait till Tuesday before you spew your ignorant garbage.

Still not sure of what ignorant bullshit you refer. If you think Apple will "fall into mainstream corporate culture again" then you are free to believe that but I see absolute no signs that they are headed that way. The Mac Pro and iWatch are prime examples of that NOT happening.
