Personally, I don’t see what’s wrong with a single strip of non-metal at the bottom (or top), but I guess I’m biased…

    And you suggest what?

I was being frank, there's no need to be rude.

A unibody iPhone is a great idea, unlike this truly boring design. And seeing how those plastic strips came apart in other photos, it's all just meh.

I would also argue that 7 years should've been enough time for the world's best designers to come up with something different, but instead, an HTC looks better.

We've been doing aluminum and titanium for over 12 years already, and they all look the same. Even the frik'n $200 ChromeBook looks almost identical to the Air, every other PC monitor already looks like an iMac. How about a new direction in design, new material usage. Jony blossomed when he was a nobody and SJ put him in the spotlight, I feel he has somewhat became complacent.

Furthermore, the new MacPro does look like a trash can. My wife, who knows nothing about computers, saw the MacPro and started laughing 'it looks like a trash can!!!.' Yeah, in an Apple store!
    Whoa, there...maybe a suppository...but a trash can? Harsh criticism...

Seriously, though, I don't know that the aluminum and titanium has become stale for me, but I see your point. The look has become iconic, though. A new direction may not be worth the risk. Despite a lot of people insisting that the iPhone 5c sold well, I can't recall ever seeing one in the wild. That can't be blamed solely on the aesthetics, but I'm sure it was a factor.

I know, it was embarrassing, my face turned red and blue. She was oblivious!

Design is all about risk, from the original Mac, first iMac, MacBook Air, to the first iPhone. SJ himself said 'we risked everything on this' about the original iPhone.

I hope Apple doesn't fall into mainstream corporate culture... again

I feel that under Cook, at least at this point, it's not going to happen.

Are we talking about the same thing? I'm saying that under Cook I don't see Apple falling "into mainstream corporate culture again."

Ok no, I think Cook is a little old fashioned and he actually might very well bring Apple under typical corporate culture

I don't see that at all. I see Cook as very calculating but not afraid to take risks. He doesn't have Jobs' presence but I don't see him as some buttoned-up paper pusher that only cares about the quarter-to-quater results. If he did, I don't think he would have waited this long to make such an amazing announcement as we'll see in less than 3 days (speculation).(speculation). I also don't think Jobs would have picked him as his successor for either his twice stepping down when Jobs wasn't able to lead Apple and at the end.

Or what about the iWatch? Can you clowns at least wait till Tuesday before you spew your ignorant garbage and make yourself look like a total retard.

Slow your roll, take a few deep breaths, and then read more carefully.

Hey, I've been an Apple fan since the 70's, I've been a fan during the years of the Performa. I met Jobs in person during his NeXT years. I will be allowed to express my point of view in any way I choose without being harassed by punks like you.

    Get it?!

Cook is definitely the sharpest CEO out there, and he realizes that Apple's most important assets are the creatives and that technology is important to the consumer when it 'touches the soul'.

But Cook himself doesn't seem to be a creative individual, I'm not sure if he would be able to recognize a good idea from an average one, I feel that's why he keeps on hiring the world's most popular designers, which is very unlike Steve who can sense great designers in people. Example, Jony Ive wasn't a famous designer, but Steve saw the potential and nurtured his abilities.

Can Cook do that? I doubt it.

The phone hasnt even been released and you are bashing it and the entire design team. You havent even seen the iWatch. Just STFU till tuesday. After Tuesday and can spew your garbage opinion because the iPhone6 will literally be the largest consumer product launch in the history of man

So why are you here, why not use your own advice?

And because this is a forum where people can share their thoughts, you can benefit by observing other people's point of view and by sharing yours. It's counter productive for a forum to be sterilized with one ideology.

The REAL iPhone 6 will be unveiled in a little more than 2 days from now.

    Everyone just be PATIENT

Interesting but Johnathan I've would never let the top of the phone look like that and then the Touch ID sensor is slightly more see threw than the iPhone 5s's and then the glass screen isn't as flat as the iPhone 5s. My guess is they took the mother board out of an iPhone 5s and got a leaked battery, then stuck it into a moc up. One more thing is that if you had the iPhone 6 you would want to check if there was NFC in the passbook app, yes the app is deferent but looks like the supposed "leak" we got earlier this year said to be for the Health app.

I find it completely unconceivable that the front of the phone would look just like the previous model. Same layout of buttons, holes, particularly bezel width ratio. It's possible of course but I'd be prepared to bet against it. I wonder if the local bookies will give me odds?
