Yes - as expected, they tested extensively and the design meets their strength criteria. Now, one can argue about whether those criteria are appropriate but, given the forces apparently applied by others to make these phones bend, I see no evidence that they are not.

“Look. Idiots. Here’s how it goes down. Now stop spreading lies about our products.”

Brilliant! This is exactly how to deal with viral trolling, use the publicity to shed positive light on the issue and hilight one of Apple's many strengths, build quality. This is a new Apple we're seeing and I love it. Major kudos to Tim for making this happen. I hope we see more of this kind of FUD control.

And next year when Apple fixes the issue with a new 6 PLUS S  material you all will eat crow- just like when Apple fixed antennae gate on the iPhone 4 to 4S.

Tim Cook should give out free steel bumpers for the 6 PLUS like Steve did for the 4.

The difference is that I'm willing to wait to see if the evidence supports the allegations, rather than immediately believing all the FUD that I read on the internet, as you apparently do.

Dude it bends and no that was not Uri Geller performing some trick. It shouldn't bend- period. What more proof do you need? Why would Apple even address it not once but twice?

The 4S is a different phone than the 4. If Apple "fixed" it, it would have changed the 4 as well.

Yes the mistake where Steve gave everyone free bumpers for the 4 to shut them up and then fixed it with the 4S.

    That mistake.

    No it was "fixed" with a stop gap called the FREE BUMPER.;

I'm sorry but I have to ask, you did see Apple's response to the antennae-gate 'issue' didn't you?

You know, where they explained how that type of behaviour with a phone was normal and occurred with all handsets, that it only occurred in poor reception areas, that they had screwed up their signal strength algorithm (which had since been corrected), that a minimal amount of customers had been affected, and then backed up all those claims with hard data?

Or are you just repeating what the Internet told you?

No question it bends. Apple have demonstrated that it bends. But then you succumb to stupidity, as usual. The issue, obviously, is not whether it bends (period), the issue is whether it bends under unreasonably low forces. Not proven, either by actual testing or by extensive user complaints. I don't want proof - I want credible evidence, and I haven't yet seen any.

Apple response to the antenae-gate issue was to issue free bumpers - there's no denying it no matter how you'd like to forget it.

But i get that you'd like to. It was an embarassment.

Apple physically changed the antenna in the 4S with a dual antenna to FIX the issue. It was in the keynote of the 4S.

Lame try at trying to rewrite history.

    You didn't answer the question.

Did you, or did you not, see Apple's official response to those claims?

That is the issue- IT SHOULDN"T BEND.  Apple apparently thinks its an issue otherwise they would have simply ignored it.

Yes - but actions speak a hell of a lot louder than words.

    1.) Free bumpers were issued.

2.) The antenna was physically ?changed with the 4S.

Do you deny this ever happened. Answer the question.

So you dispute the hard data supplied?

Can you supply data that proves otherwise?

I guess the home button was faulty with the 5 since they changed that button with the 5S. According to your logic, that's the only reason.

Also the bumpers were for a limited time only to shut the media up.

I'm with pazazu here. otherwise, why change the antenna, and why give the bumpers?

But I also don't think it was a big deal at all. People could intentionally manipulate it to not work- under normal use it was totally fine. Much like pushing on an already bent device as hard as you can doesn't constitute "normal use";)

You're full of yourself. If the 4 antennae was bad, why didn't they change the actual 4 design? Why didn't they include a bumper with every 4 they sold?

In addition, technologies improves year after year.
