It will be iOS, Apple will not releases an OSX tablet unless OSX itself has gone through changes to make it a lot more finger friendly. I would really like to see Apple finally make a Pro version of iOS though, because I got to tell ya, I still don't like iOS. I tried so hard too, but It's one of the most infuriating OS's that I have in my work flow. I actually don't think of it as an OS but an App Shell Menu System, as it seems like iOS apps have more power than the OS itself, even things like managing the resolution to an external display is done by the individual apps, which by the way is still one of the most inconsistent experiences I have still yet to come across on a mobile platform, still freaks me out to see a film playing at 1080P 16:9, excuse me, up-scaled 1080P 16:9 video, only to have it change to 4:3 1024 x 768 when displaying the desktop, weird and not a good weird either, looks horrible. My Nvidia Shield for example uses the native resolution of the TV or monitor it's connected too all the time, period, so in my case it stays on 4K the entire time, even while playing games, though I can change it manually if need be to 1080P, though I haven't needed to as everything runs smoothly, including games like Doom 3.

I still very much like the apps that I use for iOS, especially the music creation ones but I would like nothing more to have them available for Android or on one my Windows 8 devices as I have become fairly disgruntle towards my iPads in my little studio, I don't like the way they handle files, look on my projector and especially the lack of multitasking (running apps in the background or more than one at a time), their just not what I would consider professional devices. It was fine when I was in the hospital but now that I am in full swing and working again, their almost a hindrance to my work-flow. It has resulted in me using the two that I still have strictly as synthesizer brains for my Akai and Novation keyboards, thus minimizing their affect on me. I gave one away to my sister. I didn't say much when I was in the hospital as I thought it was me that there was something wrong with, no, iOS just isn't my OS, it's missing to many features for me, frankly I honestly don't get it, it's not even an easier way of doing things, it's like someone took away the steering wheel to a car and said drive it anyway. This is just me though and there is no reason to go after me for saying such things, I still copy files from one directory to the other using the command line as copying and pasting via the mouse takes to long.

My new Mac Pro on the other hand has been a fantastic machine, love the speed and design. Installing Linux is a must though for those who want to use the full potential of the graphic cards, I also added a Tesla card via a external Thunderport case and couldn't be happier. Love using my touch 4K monitors on it, best investment ever, make sure they fold flat to the desktop if you get one though. Talking about monitors in desks, my Panasonic 20" tablet looks absolutely fantastic in my desk and has been one of the most useful devices, I'm using it as a mixing board and virtual synth keys, awesome.

Thanks. I stated in a earlier post that I don't see how an entire company can be called hypocritical, nor even SJ. I do however believe he was mistaken, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I make wrong statements all the time. Like I told you earlier, the hypocrites are those that use SJ's statements to criticize another device, but never for one made by Apple. I do however get a little joy pissing off a few people, but not the regulars such as yourself.

Good to see you posting. So you're out of hospital? That must be welcome news.

Re synths: I've started making a list of iPad apps with arpeggiators; it's my favourite feature of GarageBand, and I'd love to sample more.

People aim that criticism at whatever arbitrary Apple product line is not selling or not being updated fast enough. The Mac Pro. The iPod. Thunderbolt monitors. The MacBook Air. Your criticism belongs in the same bucket. Arbitrary sky-is-falling hand-wringing over Apple's future. Why?

Because I think the iPad line is getting stale and Apple's taken thinner and lighter as far as they can. In fact some might argue they took it too far with the Air 2 considering the vibration you feel anytime you're listetning to audio/watching video.

Exactly. In fact, we wouldn't be having this discussion if the rumor simply referred to an "optional" input device. And if that was the case, it wouldn't even come with the iPad in the first place.

That's exactly what the article says. Optional. Doesn't come with device. Most people not expected to use it.

About as radical as new ear phones not bundled with the device.

At least one person here has tried to explain the number of posts, so you stand corrected there.

I'm pretty sure SN's statement does apply to dasanman69, at least indirectly. If not getting joy from believing Apple to be hypocritical, dasanman69 seems to at least be enjoying how people are defending Steve's statement. (Tell me I'm wrong dasanman69). He denies being a troll, but he's always prodding the hornet's nest. Just because his prodding is subtle does not mean it's not there. Not only that, he gloats about being superior* (in his mind) as he instigates other posters with his ambiguous statements. He even conceded that "there's a really quick way to end the argument," but that didn't stop him from posting about the same thing a dozen times.

*See previous comment insulting others' intelligence ("there's plenty of people here without a brain").

Edit: Of course, after I go through the trouble of putting this post together, he just flat out admits it: "I get a little joy pissing off a few people." Sad.

There are not many GREAT options out there, that is the thing. And there are no mouse options.

Amen. Apple, bring on additional input options! Bring on mouse support!

his own research lead him to believe the iPad maker will launch a stylus in the second quarter of this year to compliment the 12.9-inch so-called "iPad Pro."

"my, my, iPad Pro, you are so smart and wonderful, said the stylus".

That would be the stylus COMPLIMENTING the iPad Pro.

There is but you'll have to Jail Break the device to gain it. I actually never understood why Apple didn't just simply leave support for the mouse for the iPad in, we know the iPad's main navigational and input method is the finger, there was no additional conditioning that needed to be done to get this point across.

I do not want Apple to compromise on the ergonomics of the stylus, just to make it fit inside their ultra slim iPad Pro.

The main purpose of a stylus for creatives is to draw, not to chuck it away in their iPad. It is not a gimmick for us. The stylus needs to have substance and feel balanced in the hand. I'd be very happy to carry my stylus around in a separate stylus case.

I can post images, too :D

The Apple Graphics Tablet connects to an Apple II and can be used to draw images at a resolution of 280 x 192. The Graphics Tablet was released years before the mouse, so this must have blown peoples’ minds!

Apple released the Graphics Tablet in 1979 with a retail price of $650. Adjusted for inflation, that’s a cool $1,980 dollars! What? I wish I could see an example image of what $2 grand could buy. I can only imagine.
