A gold Milanese band would be spectacular.

Not if you buy it from a street vendor in Hong Kong, or Battery Park.

And yet, I'm certain they will make one eventually. The Milanese seems to be a very popular option, with the link in third place, so we'll likely see that one too (however spectacularly priced!).

Since Apple must address the significant number of people who do not wear silver jewelry or accessories, and can't afford the Edition, I'm expecting Apple to offer a mid-tier gold offering in the $1,000-2,000 range, and this may be where we see the gold Milanese bracelet first due to demand. Perhaps Apple will go the Vermeil route -- there are some very high-end watches that sell in this price range made of Vermeil. I doubt Apple would go gold-filled, and definitely not gold plate. It's possible they might even go with a solid 14K option which is also fairly common among high end watchmakers in this price range as well. But they will definitely do it because that's a significant chunk of money they will be leaving on the table otherwise.

No way in hell.  That would be a kick in the nuts and a slap in the face to those who bought the solid gold edition for over $10k

Both of you might end up being wrong. The bands available with the Edition are exclusive to those models and could continue to distinguish them from a lower-priced gold option. Not a wearer of gold myself, though, so I could also be wrong.

Apple will ultimately have to find a way to distinguish between Platinum/White gold variants of the Edition in order to cater to those wealthy who wear silver, and the regular stainless steel models. They will definitely look different up close, as will 14K gold from 18K, especially the rose gold. But certainly the bands are one way to do it ... I doubt somebody's going buy a $2,000 Vermiel watch and then buy a $7000 Edition watch band for it (which don't appear to be sold separately at the moment). The Bright Red Modern Buckle has a red digital crown accent, and the White Sport band has a white accent, so that's one way to distinguish the Edition from the regular gold watch, as well as the steel from the platinum Edition.

Or Apple could just do nothing about it. We'll see how concerned they are about fashion probably as early as the Fall.

If it turns out they have product in store (they might at some point before June), you can get one in-store if you wish (either queuing with all the other, what I would label, "queueing dolts") or wait till queues die in-store and get one then, or you can wait and have it delivered to your door. Think about those people queueing where that is their only chance to get one, that they haven't done the smart thing and pre-ordered like you. You've hedged your bets and now have options.

Exaggerate? Yes. Overreact? No. As long as preordered inventory is off-limits to walk-ins and subsequent orders (which is the only honorable protocol), whether or not they make it available for in-store pickup is largely irrelevant.

Hundreds of comments on smart watches?  Given my post count and time registered on this site,  it looks like I make an average of 254 comments a year.  I hope you understand if I call BS on that without bothering to go and count,

Would it be like you posting hundreds of comments about Samsung products you never intend buying?  When I searched under your ID and the word Samsung I get 546 hits.  You wouldn't be a bit of a hypocrite would you?

If you think I am trolling report me to a moderator.

I apologize for intruding in you fight/argument, but do understand that this is an apple forum, and if anything samesong or gaggle pops up we will give our most honest opinion on the topic and it won't necessarily be a positive one. Now if you go to any of the million apple hating sites your opinions are very relevant, but you are on an apple loving site, and your opinion and constant show of lack of interest in said product that is being discuss brings no collaboration to the discussion. Specially if they are just making remarks like I'm not interested at all! It is quiet fine if you don't like the product but do give an honest and reasonable reason of why you don't like it. We are all adults ( I think) and when we say we don't like samesong or gaggle we say why and give reasonable reasons, and we do it in a place where most of us agree and not in a place where they love those product because that is not very respectfull.

Someone will gold plate their Milanese loop band and slap it on their Watch Edition.

That would save you about $15,000 I should imagine.

Nothing is more tacky than gold plated jewery.  No way someone who spend $10k will do that

There are billionaires who get their cars gold plated as well as other items:

    http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/05/23/dubai-hotel-provides-guests-with-imacs-24-karat-gold-ipad

The prices there are around $10k but given the size of the iPad, it must either be a thin layer of solid gold or high quality plating. The iPhone 6 here doesn't look too bad:

You can get an iPhone 5S gold plated for £560.  It is quite likely some people will buy a SS ?Watch with Milanese bracelet and have them plated, tacky or not.

I'd say there might even be some people who buy the $10-17k edition, who prefer a metal band, and have either the as Milanease or Link bracelets gold plated, until Apple offers a solid one. Right now Apple has left them high and dry ... That shows you how much they care about their wealthiest customers. Indeed, people I know with that kind of money would wear it with a badge of honor, showing their ingenuity, freely aknowleding it is plated. The other thing I know about those friends is that are notoriously cheap. They appreciate status and quality, but as long as the watch itself is solid gold, they'll probably brag about how much they saved on the bracelet. The truly rich will just take the gold connector to a jeweler and have them fabricate an 18K custom gold band in any design they want, thus cutting Apple completely out of the picture. The customer loyalty thing goes both ways.

Meanwhile Apple is most likely making plans for a gold mid-tier watch, whether Vermeil or solid 14K, so as to ensure people who only wear gold jewelry have an opportunity to buy an ?Watch.

That doesn't look completely horrible. They'll probably get a lot of business.
