You know I think we have descended to the 1960s  as in Trump's  tag line of Make America great again. What does that mean? Back to racial discrimination, the Cold War, the depression, World War II. What exactually is the period in US history do you want to return to? I have no dog in this race since I have investments, property, annuities, stocks, international healthcare, a couple businesses, property in other countries, the eventual expectation of social security and Medicare, but I'm going to go out on limb and suggest that Trump will be assinated even before he becomes the GOP candidate in the general election.
I expect its the 1950-1965 period, the period where white men reigned supreme and the US had the spoils of being a victor of WWII and mostly unscathed by this, and everybody else being messed by WWII and 10 years of depression. The funny thing is that on almost all issues, the current GOP is more regressive than this 1950s-1960s GOP (which positions is pretty much the one of the current democrats).

It's quite a hoot since that period bears the mark of a very long democrat rule, with Ike barely being different in many policies than his non GOP predecessors.

So, it seems that they want the 1950-1960s, but that's not what they'd get if everything they're shooting for happened.

Their policies are more akin to the 1900-1930 era of protectionism, colonialism (especially in Latin America), anti-semitiscm, pro-fascist sympathies in the US, union busting, free for all trickle down economics. Jim Crow, rampant corporate control of society that could do pretty much anything they wanted, small government with almost no regulatory influence, pre fed central bank,, less women's right, etc.   Forgetting why those were all bad things that specifically did NOT make america great.

"PUMP & DUMP, TRUMP the CHUMP - BUMP my RUMP - LUMP LUMP LUMP!!!"
    * (I am not an immigrant!)

Donald Trump wants to give you $100 from his election advertising budget!  He has more money than he can spend in a lifetime and he has decided to share it with American voters!  Rather than spend BILLIONS of dollars on traditional TV, Radio and Newsprint election ads, he has decided to use Facebook to purchase advertising from ordinary people like you and me!  Simply copy and paste his Facebook campaign slogan "PUMP & DUMP, TRUMP the CHUMP - BUMP my RUMP - LUMP LUMP LUMP!!!" as your FaceBook status for at least 1 hour - anytime between now and Election Day to qualify for the $100 advertising fee!   Facebook users must also include the phrase "* (I am not an immigrant!)" in order to be paid since this offer is only for *REAL* Americans.  When the New York Times asked Trump what his slogan meant, Trump replied "It doesn't MEAN anything.  It has my name in it and it rhymes.  I like rhymes and I think Internet people like rhymes too!"  The Wall Street Journal is upset about this campaign because it takes advertising dollars out of their pockets and gives it to ordinary people - but they did say that they "really like the rhyme".

The owner of FaceBook will be automatically monitoring who posts the status and will be sending the names to Trumps election accounting team at the end of each week.  The $100 checks will be sent out whether Trump wins or loses the election.  Facebook users can earn the $100 advertising credit once per week between now and the election.
Post this entire message as your status and help your friends earn $100 too!

(This is not real.  I was bored and gave myself a couple good laughs writing it up.  It's actually not funny - but scary how many people would believe this and actually post it as their status if this or something similar were to be released!  I hope it gave at least some of you a laugh or two...!)

I'm visiting the US again at the end of the year. Can anyone explain how the Muslim test will work? Am I at risk of being tortured?

Recent surveys have found that most of Trump's supporters have at best a high school diploma, are white, working class and making less in the past 20 years then minorities which have gained ground by being better educated and most like no feelings or being entitled as Trump supporters feel. It is always easier to blame others for your problems, you don't have to examine your own decisions with a critical eye. Building giant walls is absolutely hilarious and absurd. The money for a project like that could provide free healthcare to every American for the next decade. However those in favor of governmental acts of spite just want to hurt others not realizing it is themselves which will suffer more from supporting such lame projects. I am also fascinated by the working class' resistance to putting a higher tax burden on the very wealthy. One idea is that someday they will reach that goal or being wealthy and they don't want to have to "give it away" to people in their present situation, under educated and under employed. The reality is they will never be rich even if they win the 1 in a billion chance lottery. History has shown people who are bad with money will lose it all in just a couple of years. Meanwhile the poor vote against politicians which could actually make their lives better through registration in favor of politicians that tell them what they want to believe.

two words come to mind, whenever Trump comes up
    Buffoon and Blowhard

    Remember,
Trump said he would Do His Daughter, if she wasn’t his Daughter

…WITH the Daughter standing right there!!   …Ha! ha ha ha !!!!    ….LOL

Hey, I'd do his daughter, she is HOT! I really don't think he said anything wrong! I don't see anything wrong saying you have a hot Daughter. He didn't say he would do her if she let him. Daughter standing there or not doesn't change that. Your eye's don't have some fog lens when you look at your daughter and go Yuck, she's ugly and I wouldn't do her with a 10 foot pole. This isn't the south. (No offence to the south!) Maybe it was a little out there to say to the camera. He's no politician and just says whatever he wants at the time. Instead of a whole not about nothing, taking no stand. Don't want to be labeled the Flip-Flopper.

Please tell me that you simply forgot the "/s" at the end.  Please?

Is Ivanka hot?  Yes.  Should those thoughts even be going through her father's head, let alone being expressed right in front of her?  No.  I mean, come on man.  That was freakin' disgusting.

Fortunately we have something called the Coast Guard, which is important enough to be one of the branches of our military. A military that, if you’ll remember, will be coming home to guard America herself if Trump gets his way.

Sink a few boats and they’ll get the message. We don’t want them.

When will you get rid of this insane person, America?

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-gop-primary-live-updates-and-results/2016/03/trump-defends-protest-violence-220638

No matter whatever *else* he's offering, and no matter how much of it, HOW have his views and behaviour NOT automatically disqualified him in the minds of every sane, rational voter?

    Where are your boundaries
Nobody has a right to shut down anybody else's first amendment rights, and violent protesters who seek confrontation get whatever they deserve.

Free speech is worth fighting for, no matter what the cost.
The protestors that were attacked at trump rallys weren't violent.

you don't fight for free speech by trying to silence dissenting points of view.

I really don't understand people who are so veamittally supporting any candidate. They all suck and if you think any politician is looking out for your interest you are simply an idiot.

They make for hits and page views. I’ve no problem with the existence of the threads; I just wish that the AI bot would automatically put them in PoliticalOutsider.

You gotta vote. You can't complain if you don't vote. I'm voting for myself if Trump is the nominee.

We all know how ineffective that other great wall (the Berlin one) was for almost 30 years. You won't keep the people from getting over, under or through it if they are determined enough.
Berlin wall = keep people and citizens locked in, because commie paradises are so wonderful, that people must be forced to live in them, with little chance of escape.

Trump wall = keep illegal intruders and criminals out, protecting the citizens of your own nation

And the Berlin wall was actually extremely effective, for many decades. A few people here and there managed to get across, but many more probably died trying and the wall did work.
A wall has never worked to solve any longstanding problem in the entire history of the planet.  Period.
